  1. I think this can definitely breakout past 100m. It’s targeting an adult demo that doesn’t have a lot of high profile films aimed at them.
  2. I’m not sure what avenues they have to explore in a sequel without it feeling like a pointless rehash. Now, I thought the exact same thing when they announced this movie. But still.
  3. It’s a great movie but it tries a little to hard to be art house at points, and prognosticator... lol
  4. This may be cheating 1. Indiana Jones trilogy 2. Star Wars Saga 3. The Complete Linklater Collection 4. The Wizard of Oz 5. The Complete Sergio Leone Collection 6. Lord of the Rings Trilogy 7. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind 8. Monty Python Trilogy (Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Book of Life) 9. The Complete Tarantino Collection 10. The Complete David Lean Collection 11. The Complete Hollywood Musical Collection 12. The Complete Collection of Movies 13. The Complete Cuaron Collection 14. The Complete Michael Bay Collection 15. The Complete Del Torro Collection 16. The Complete John Ford Collection 17. Mad Max Series 18. The Complete Pixar Collection 19. The Complete Kubrick Collection 20. Hard to be a God
  5. The reflection of the movie is simple people are shit. It’s very poignant.
  6. BOT’s always been reactionary, I’m pretty sure people called PP3 and TGS flops after their OW. Both are going to end up being modest hits.
  7. A meditative reflection of the nature of man. A+
  8. What was your predict prior to its opening, just curious? I probably had the highest prediction for IT on the forum and I still ended up underpredicting It by a fair amount.
  9. It’s still a stupid quote, darkness isn’t an actual thing, it’s just the state of there being no light.
  10. 20/20? Sounds like Cameron’s trying to send a message about what he thinks about Avatar 2.
  11. Except she wrote these gems of lines ”Be a warrior!” ”The only thing faster than light, is the darkness!”
  12. No wonder TLJ is a big flop!! JonathanLB only saw it 16 times and not 51!
  13. It’s still a major step up from ”The only thing faster than light... IS THE DARKNESS!” This movie looks bad, I would like to stan for Duverny but the trailers just don’t look good. And that line is abysmal, it deserves a razzie.
  14. Everyone knows the only awards show that matters is the “Fake News” Awards - for the most corrupt and dishonest Mainstream Media - being given by the Combover in Chief himself on Jan 17, right?
  15. I think it’d be the frontrunner with no preferential ballot. But because of this it needs widespread appeal, not just a passionate base. That’s why I think Get Out is winning (beyond it currently winning the critics circles overall), it has a wide base and will be a movie that benefits from the preferential ballot (similar to Moonlight and Spotlight)
  16. Just a comment, the Globes always does an awful job stitching together videos for the BP nominees. They should just stop. They’re choppy and jarring.
  17. The Shape of Water is going to have to accept Director and techs as a constellation prize, it’s not getting picture
  18. McDormand is my pick too, but if Ronan wins the sag it could be a sign Oscar will go to Lady Bird
  19. Best Actress race is interesting, I could see Ronan, McDormand or Hawkins winnning.
  20. I’m still thinking it’s a three-way race between Get Out, Lady Bird and Three Billboards. Three Billboards probably takes the SAG, if it ends up losing that’s a big shot to its chances. Doubt any of them win the DGA, but a Gerwig or Peele upset isn’t impossible. If that upset does happen though, then Get Out or Lady Bird is the definite winner. WGA will only say if Lady Bird or Get Out is in a better situation for the win since Three Billboards wasn’t eligible. PGA Winner id say is the frontrunner, especially if BAFTA winner matches up. Globes is really just a glorified critics circle so I don’t put tons of stock in it as none of HFPA can vote for the Oscars. It just helps drive a narrative.
  21. Until Greta Gerwig comes out of nowhere and snatches it up. Then all of the alt-right reddit trolls will cry out passionately about their hatred for feminism, saying it’s an awards show not a social justice show.
