  1. There's no guarantee AoE will even outgross Maleficent, it could continue the terrible legs trend. I'm hoping Apes wins the summer though, that would be freshening.
  2. I think most (first world) people watch more than 10 a year, and most middle class and upwards will go to 10 or so a year.
  3. Transformers may gross more in china than the top US movie until Mockingjay Pt 1 this year.
  4. They would never estimate their Sunday drop to be lighter than it's actually going to be in order to get a 100m total.
  5. Only bad thing about comparing the two is if one of your posts gets a lot of likes it still only counts for 1 for that page worth, whereas you can't give multiples likes per post.
  6. I didn't foresee all of these terrible legs and disappointments, my predicts were off horribly this summer.
  7. I would bet money actuals are below 100m, an 18% drop for Trans4mers is unrealistic, they just want good press.
  8. I really don't believe that 18% sunday drop, it's going to have much lower actuals than that estimate.
  9. If Bay read this he'd start working on 5 straight away.Transformers: Dawn of Drills
  10. I'm still baffled at why the GA eats up Transormers, the visuals got old after the first movie.
  11. 1) DOFP could have been bigger if Fox marketed it correctly but it still brought life back to a dead franchise.2) Fault relied solely on the online hype from the built in fanbase and they didn't market it at all to help expand that base. Sure it's still a fantastic success, it practically covered the budget on opening day, but it's hard not to believe that had Fox not been lazy with the marketing that it could have been bigger.3) Httyd2 is another case where Fox wanted to rely on built in fanbases to carry the movie and not market it themselves. It had everything going for it to be the movie of the summer, but there was no marketing push given at all. The sad thing here is Fault and DOFP had large fanbases to help make them successes despite bad marketing efforts, Httyd2 didn't really have a fanbase to drive it to success with no marketing.4) I don't know about Dawn but given Fox did a terrible job marketing so far it'll be interesting to see how it goes. Id say it's in a position for guaranteed success, but I thought the same for httyd2

  14. Okay I am going to move my snowpiercer discussion over here now, I accidentally put it in an old weekend thread oops.
  15. If Transformers makes 250m in China that means the #1 movie in China for the Summer would be bigger than the US' number 1 movie for the summer.
