  1. Except it's not about the oppressed breaking the system?
  2. Mainly because whenever I look at the reactions from general domestic audience memebera they have hated it for either not getting it or they think they get it and completely miss the point.
  3. Raves are fairly common for documentaries, especially when the doc glorifies film critics.
  4. Sharlto Copely wasn't even that good in Elysium, it was just because Jodie Foster was terrible...
  5. I haven't seen EOT or 22JSBut if I don't even count Snowpiercer so far this summer I have loved Godzilla, DOFP, Fault, and Httyd2 plus I enjoyed Neighbors.Only movies I thought were crap were Tasm2, Maleficent, and Million ways to die, and even those three duds were better than the duds we got last year by this point (gag Hangover 3, After Earth, Now You See Me, Great Gatsby, Man of Steal Your Money, White House Down, and that was just pre-June before the really terrible duds showed up)
  6. Comic Book movies are simply the new westerns, or the new gritty action flicks. They started building up a momentum of popularity with Spider-Man, X-Men and onwards (sure you had your batman and superman flicks before, but they were scarce), and once MCU got started as well as the Dark Knight franchise the comic book genre began to reach new heights. I think within the next couple of years we will start to see a comic book collapse, things lose popularity and something new will come to replace it. I don't think the genre will truly die out, but within the next 10 years it'll reach the state that the Die Hard style action flicks are in now. Anyone who thinks the way comic books are being made now is sustainable are fooling themselves, there will be a fall.
  7. If Weinstein would campaign Snowpiercer I would think Chris Evans could have a possibility as long as the competition isn't like last years. He gave a great performance.
  8. I wish Weinstein would push Tilda Swanston with Snowpiercer, she and Chris Evans were both good enough to get nominated under a normal year.

  11. The ending was what brought the movie from a "this is a great sci-fi movie" to "Holy crap best movie of the year" for me. I love allegories and this is a great one, I hate to sound pretentious but the people that didn't like it simply didn't get it from who I asked. For example the person I went with hated it because he didn't see a point to it and didnt understand if, he's a smart person I just don't think he connected the dots.Snowpiercer is probably the best sci fi film since children of men.
  12. It was a great movie, the people I went to see it with didn't like it though. Weinstein might be right in that most Americans won't get the film, because the complaint was, "I didn't see a point to the movie." as if there was nothing to it when in actuality it's evidently layered and symbolic.Favorite movie of the year.
  13. Finished Snowpiercer, it was fantastic and I am definitely in agreence with the acclaim it's been getting.Honestly it baffles me why there are some passionate haters to it. I heard cartoonish acting complaints but it was dystopian sci-fi, the same caricatures are in movies like The Hunger Games. The only thing I see wrong about it is the logic of how the train works is flawed but I was fine accepting it as a science fantasy.Besides there is to much good stuff, especially with the climax for that to overly matter. It leaves you a lot to think about and it was extremely entertaining with that. This was quite possibly my favorite sci-fi movie since Children of Men and it's my favorite of the year so far (LEGO has finally been dethroned)
  14. I hope Lucy is a success even if I think it looks stupid in concept. Reason is I want action/blockbuster movies that put females in lead roles to succeed so studios get the message that things like Wonder Woman solo movies could succeed.
  15. Exactly the movie is nonsense because humans use 100% of their brains, the 10% idea is a myth so the entire movie is flawed right there.
  16. The LEGO Movie is a pop-masterpiece.Also about to see Snowpiercer, I don't know what to expect, I have seen lots of raves but a lot of casual audiences have hated it.
  17. I still don't buy httyd2 being better than 1, 2 was really good but it never reached the emotional heights of the first. The LEGO Movie was better than both dragons though.
  18. My top animations 1.Finding Nemo2.Spirited Away3.The Lion King4.Wall-E5.TangledHonorable Mention: Kung-Fu Panda
  19. I'm really hoping that this gets made, and that it wraps up the Dragon franchise. Same with Kung Fu Panda 3. Afterwards I don't care what Dreamworks does.
