    Im a huge fan of both the films and the comics but somehow Im still excited for this. Even with the tone being quite the departure from both previous sources & the lack of buzz/reviews being alarming, Im still excited about the character being trotted out as a hard-R, action-horror romp. Clearly something more Deadpool-flavored, but its worth exploring IMO. Add to the fact that some scenes/creations are being lifted straight out from the comics, then Im just really hoping theres something Ill enjoy from this.

    Gotta admit, Im a sucker for practical monster effects and make up.

    Well, the greed one had 4 arms/hands (makes sense for greed to be grabby) and what I assumed was gluttony was round and had a huge mouth (which opened up in the third act). Oh yeah they were definitely imposing in the first act as statues. Creepy indeed, in a good way.

    I liked it! Good movie. Best aspect for me was the humor, which it had a lot of. Especially the jokes poking fun at being a superhero. Surprisingly though, more crude humor and potentially unsettling scenes/deaths than I imagined. The characters are likable, and I always enjoy Mark Strong in villainous roles. I do think the Seven Sins came off more as demon goon fodder rather than some terrifying presence though.

    Just came from a showing (1st day of release over here). I liked it, good movie. Best parts for me were the humor (a lot of it and well done too!) Crowd was into the humor as well, so I think word of mouth will be good.

    Rewatched the trailer only to discover a VERY spoilery shot Either way still cautiously optimistic for this.

    Going by set photo concept art, Godzilla and Kong look very much evenly matched.

    I think we'll be seeing the Genie in at least 2 forms: his classic blue form when he's first released (the unfinished form as mentioned in the article) and a human form that we'll be seeing as he interacts with the rest of the movies cast to not give away his genie identity ("Prince Ali" and how in the EW pic they seem to be talking in public). So Im guessing the EW look is gonna make it on screen, its just that its one of the Genie's many assumed forms.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this. Rami Malek killed it as Freddie Mercury, and I think the stylishness of it all along with the rapid fire pace is gonna work well with general audiences like it did with me. I can see where the critics are coming from about it not diving deeper into Queen (especially the other bandmates)...but as a audience-friendly, blockbuster window to at least introduce general audiences to Queen..it absolutely worked for me.     First look at Kong! He looks more rugged to me (unless this is just a reused likeness of the Peter Jackson Kong)

    Perfect example of a B-level superhero film. Tom Hardy with the ham, some neat action/VFX sequnces (though the quality noticeably drops in the finale), a dash of humor (some unintentional) and half baked subplots & supporting characters. Its not great, but its a decent way to kill some time.
