  1. Just came from watching this: (Didnt watch the original, but I enjoyed stuff like Cloverfield and the V/H/S movies) *I found the first 2 acts okay. Some good moments of tension, but mostly nothing remarkably great or unwatchable. *Really liked the climax. Was genuinely scared by some stuff in here. There's also a pretty neat concept that plays with the fact that Ill give it 3/4 for now cos I liked the finale..a lot.
  2. Just watched it here in my country with english subtitles. The first 2 acts are really really good stuff, with the tension and this feeling of panic/uncertainty. I feared the govt. meetings would be boring, but I was so wrong. Theyre witty, snappy and very well-done. The breath scenes are just..wow. The last act and climax were pretty anticlimactic for me though, plus the last 30 minutes had more iffy cgi if I recall correctly. Overall, I liked this not just as a Godzilla film, but as a piece of filmmaking. 3.5/5
  3. Could this thread please be merged with its On the lot counterpart? For continuity's sake
  4. I went into this without watching any of the previous Bourne films (whoops) and I liked this a lot. The Athens and Las Vegas scenes are something else really. Adored the action & pacing. 3/4
  5. Apparently this comes out here in the Philippines by next month fingers crossed!!
  6. This might help answer your question. https://www.funeralwise.com/digital-dying/2013/04/28/death-by-ants-from-africa-and-australia-to-florida/
  7. Actually, Zilla only refers to the Final Wars incarnation. The 1998 one is still trademarked as Godzilla, even until now. Weird naming conventions but that's how it goes, I guess. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
  8. Uhm got put in Krang's "trophy" collection for presumed future sequels right?
  9. Action's pretty good and I do like the CGI for the turtles, but the practically everything else was really forgettable or didn't make you want to care & "been there done that" (not expected actually) I actually liked the first one better. 1.5/4
  10. I think its a great thing that your cinema tries to really make moviegoing an experience by itself
  11. Never played the games..still, I liked the trailer and the premise seems very intriguing.
  12. Even with the longer weekend the single day numbers are insane!!
  13. I liked it..a lot. The visuals are the real star of this one (but that was already to be expected). I found the voice work great for the most part, especially Elba & Murray. Sethi's acting isn't perfect (but obviously I've got to cut him some slack), and some of the story didn't seem to flow right for reasons I can't put my finger on right now. But going back to the visuals..wow. All of the animals & environments are rendered perfectly (biologically accurate for the most part!!!) Also liked how Kaa & King Louie were enormous in size. Those two really had screen presence visually. (This is so getting an Oscar for its visuals :P) I was pretty surprised that Mowgli didn't go to the human village in the end, and that we didn't get a scene of Mowgli being concerned for Baloo after the climax.. But I'm guessing Favreau/Marks decided to put a bigger focus on Mowgli's jungle roots and how man & nature can co-exist; also on Mowgli's relationship with his wolf family. Loved those developments. 3.5/4
  14. I liked that teaser a lot, didn't expect that.
  15. Hilarious, action-packed, and a really really great film to watch in a crowded theater. 3.5/4
  16. Mark Millar had some words to say: http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/mark-millar-talks-captain-america-civil-war-kingsman-secret-service-sequel/ And from Taron Egerton: http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/kingsman-the-secret-service/38688/kingsman-2-is-a-far-more-international-story
