  1. How it matches up with the comics, or doesn't, won't be an issue for me. But a Blade Runner city is just a vast oppressive metropolis, so it counts. I haven't seen the film yet though, so I might end up disappointed, but I doubt that.
  2. It was most likely advertising that made the difference, it had awful legs for 1995. And Stallone was still a big name then, so they could get by on that.
  3. The first thing I thought when I saw the trailer was "A violent bloody movie set in a Blade Runner city? Sign me the fuck up!".

  5. But a relatively tiny amount of the GDP is military expenditure, just 1% according to wiki, the lowest of any country in the top 15.
  6. Their constitution prevents them from going to war, they are considered to be neutral. As I understand, they won't begin wars or join any, but will defend themselves if necessary.
  7. Well, I'm disappointed, hopefully it can save some face and go up to $10m.
  8. But how much of that is the exchange rate? The USD amount is not indicative of actual performance, unless it's 1:1 all the time, which it isn't. For example: It decreased by 18% in Australia
  9. Take Pirates for example, in selected markets:AWE : OSTAustralia $29m : $29m (despite $6m drop in AUD)China $16.9m : $70m+ (market expansion)France $48m : $49m (1m fewer admissions)Germany $59m : $62m (despite 1.7m fewer admissions)Japan $91m : $108.9m (favourable exchange rate, lost 2b Yen)Russia $38.9m : $63.7m (market expansion)There are a whole host of reasons why franchise increase, as you can see, and in this case, the most significant reason for the increase is market expansion. In developed markets, we can see a similar pattern to how it is in the US.
  10. But not weaker than the in the early 00's. And then you've got the Yen and the Australian Dollar which are significantly stronger then they were.
  11. Exchange rates and growing markets. There will of course be a point where franchises will stop growing, we're just in the midst of an expansion period.
  12. Their loss. It looks fantastic, better than any DVD.
  13. Wow, you guys, taking Revolutions over Inception. I cannot begin to comprehend how you could come up with such a wrong opinion.
  14. Madagascar's legs will be significantly better than The Watch's. The difference in totals may end up similar (proportionally).
  15. I think I would actually. And the funny thing about ticket sales is that if you sell more of them you make more money anyway. To its detriment IMO.
  16. More dollars but fewer tickets is concerning to me, and therefore, I can't see that as being anything other than a hollow victory, if it can be called a victory at all.
  17. Wow, it's making money so fast! How does that compare to the previous ones?
