Idk because I can only find data in totals but as far as I know in terms of tickets a local comedy holds the record released many years ago . -

Endgame report from Athens (only from one theater chain ) 24 Sold outs (all formats with 6 of them in the biggest auditoriums) 15 near sold out showings . Again this has never happened before .And for the first time ever they hVe added showings early in the day and again they sold out very quickly. And that’s just OD. For its second day is at 6 sold out and 5 near sold out showings, which would still be on par with the second biggest preseller here (TLJ) that I have tracked in its OD. mindblowing to say the least . IMO,this could get the opening weekend record here (or everywhere for that matter). -
In my country We only got some tv spots for Shazam a day before release. And other than that absolutely nothing.I remember with every other DCEU release I would be seeing them everywhere ,even on the busses, and ads would play all the time.Hell on tv I have seen the PS tv spot way more times than I have seen the Shazam one.

You may ne onto something.I just checked the schedule and in 2020 there are only 2 cbms coming before WW84.One is a DC Film actually celebrating DC women and the other one is an untitled Marvel film.Honestly I can't figure what Marvel may put there but this could very well change to some other Disney release or be something not of Marvel's big guns. And if GOTG2 was not enough to stop WW then nothing Marvel will put out can seriously hurt it.Now I can see WW84 getting above the original and maybe the 500M mark. Will still need to see more... I mean from their announced project les only BW could make the dateml.

In my country,AEG has 6 showings sold out (3 of them are the country’s biggest auditoriums) and 15 near sold out for OD.For it’s second day it has 5near sold out showings and 2 of them are in the biggest auditoriums. The 2nd biggest preselected I have tracked in my country (as I said we are not used to booking tickets) was TLJ and that one was not even close doing half of what AEG is doing. -

I’m not expecting much for Shazam but i’m not too worried of its performance in the US for two reasons that others have pointed out... 1.It has already earned 3.3M from these early screenings and those would probably go to previews and OD figures in any other case since I can only imagine that fans are mostly attending these screenings. 2.It has been marketed as a family film and these tended to be light on presales and thrive on walk ups. It’s the OS numbers that have me worried.WoM does not seem as good as is it is in the US. -

You should know 2 things about my country: no one ever thinks of booking their tickets like even a week in advance and those who can probably fill a showing (almost). Today (21 days in advance) the Avengers Endgame tickets went on sale (and usually the theaters open the presales closer to release) and a few hour laters it has 3 sold out showing and 8 near sold out showing and some of them are fucking huge auditoriums .I have tracked some other event films like TLJ But...nothing comes close. Not even after presales we’re on for a few days.I have never seen this before.Holy Shit. -
For what is worth, now we can officially say that WB is just waiting for WoM to spread like wildfire while they do nothing marketing wise.I mean it’s Monday before release and there’s nothing...no late show interviews,no countless YouTube interviews,Hell the film barely pops on my feed when some time ago I was occasionaly seeing something for a film like serenity. Anyway, will still go for 55M OW and hope for the best.
