    Japan had its world premiere yesterday. Will be interesting to see how it does there since it's been 12 years since the last Toho film, Godzilla Final Wars, which didn't do so well.

    To each his own. Plenty of people enjoyed G14. 05 Kong was good, but this film is obviously more comparable to Godzilla 2014 since they're set inn the same world etc.

    Kong looks super large in that poster..... it'll all work out. In this universe it seems Godzilla loses energy using his radioactive breath. Can't wait to see the eventual battle. First, Kong gets his movie.

    Correct. A LP film distributed by WB. This film has a great shot in bringing in some $$ with LP getting a lot of return from China.

    This is a brand new continuity not related to Legendarys Godzilla/Kong cinematic universe. Two concurrent Godzilla franchises!

    http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2016/07/21/exclusive-funimation-licenses-godzilla-resurgence/ Just announced at comic con, FUNimation will distribute the 29th TOHO produced Godzilla film. The 31st in the long running franchise. FUNimation confirmed a late 2016 theatrical release. TOHO has sold the film to at least 100 countries and or territories. The largest ever by TOHO. Godzilla: Resurgence will be released in Japan next Friday in Imax formats! Trailer:

    Toho announced the other day that China is one of the 100 countries/territories to get Shin-Gojira(Godzilla: Resurgence). I wonder when it'll get released there. If anyone sees anything about the release date for it, let us know!

    This topic should at least be moved to the international section as it's no longer "on the lot"! Glad to hear it's getting a optimal release with 348 theaters.

    They must have high hopes for Godzilla: Resurgence to have that many theaters! Hoping it does really well so that Toho will decide to make another film for 2018 before Legendarys Godzilla 2 in 2019.
