  1. WB is lucky that BvS had a great opening weekend worldwide. It's still going to make money for them, but they need to maybe STOP and rethink some things. Something is not working, and you can see that. Like someone else said, I would do the Batman film before Justice League now. This DCCU is not STOPPING, because it's still going to bring in a lot of $$$, but something isn't working right. They need to bring in NEW directors or something... idk.. new writers. Something is not right if Suicide Squad has a chance to match BvS in Box Office numbers... because there's no way this thing is hitting 1 billion, unless overseas isn't affected.
  2. Godzilla vs. Kong could possibly do that. King Kong vs Godzilla in 1962 had a attendance of 12,550,000... the highest attendance for any Godzilla film in Japan.
  3. Tom Hiddleston calls the films "spectacular and epic". http://www.ew.com/article/2016/03/30/tom-hiddleston-kong-skull-island I'm curious to know why they're keeping this a "secret"? As if most of us don't already know this and G2 lead into a Godzilla vs Kong film.
  4. It should do more than G14 I think. This should feel more "adventurous". For now I'm going with 400 OS.
  5. This movie is going to make a ton of $$ for WB... but they might have for sure "left money on the table". This is a huge movie... one that should have happened a long long time ago.. so yeah, even though something like 350m DOM is huge, it seems small for a movie like this.
  6. BvS will do fine overall. It'll make it to 300m+ domestically and do enough overseas to get it to a billion+ I think.
  7. Filming is just about finished: http://english.vietnamnet.vn/fms/art-entertainment/152499/kong--the-skull-island-crew-moves-to-ha-long.html
  8. Yeah, I know, it'll be similar to BvS... but it's what you gotta do. I don't think you can actually give a winner in this, unless they just beat each other till they both pass out... the end. Yeah, GvsKong is going to easily be the biggest creature feature film at the BO(other than Jurassic Park).. if it doesn't hit 1billion then something like 700-900 should easily happen. I just hope Skull Island and Godzilla 2 sets everything up pretty well.
  9. The marketing for Godzilla vs. Kong is going to be great. Just picturing the possibilities is simply amazing. They'll focus on both Godzilla and Kong equally. Most likely have them team up to fight something much more dangerous(hoping King Ghidorah). These films WW total should be much higher than G14.. remember, LP merged with Wanda pictures and Wanda owns the majority of theaters in China, so they'll be giving the LP films more theaters etc... The China grosses for these films should be great.
  10. No. Don't name drop me like that please.... Yes, I'm a fan of giant monster films. That's it. I don't require a giant monster in every film.............................. So, I'm guessing you're expecting Abram's "Clover-verse" to have the name Cloverfield in every title. Honestly, that's the only thing that makes sense. You put the name CLOVERFIELD in it.
  11. There might be links in the ARG... but nothing screams that the Cloverfield monster attacked New York. The bunker stuff was ok.....
  12. I just got back from the film... and I don't know what to say. I KNEW it wasn't a DIRECT sequel to Cloverfield, but still expected some kind of reference to it. The only possible reference was This did NOT have to have the name CLOVERFIELD in it. This should have been called something else completely. There might not be a HUGE fan base for Cloverfield, but when name J.J. Abrams, MATT REEVES and Bad Robot are behind a film that has the name CLOVERFIELD in it.... All I can say is, they knew exactly what they were doing when they decided on the name "Hey, we might get people that still remember Cloverfield to come and see this.".... Unless there's some kind of plan that the they mentioned WAS the events in Cloverfield, and Clovie ends up fighting what's in this film, the whole thing was a quick cash grab. There was absolutely no reason to have the name CLoverfield in it. CLOVERFIELD and Super 8 were also much better than this film. I didn't enjoy the bunker stuff at all really.... unfortunately that was like
  13. Is there at least a reference to the original CLOVERFIELD? I mean, it's not a DIRECT sequel, but still hoping it's within the same world etc.
  14. Some locals in Vietnam got lucky and got a picture of Kongs jaw. Obviously the thing is huge... it could even be bigger on screen.
  15. The scenery they're shooting at in Vietnam is absolutely beautiful. You can definitely tell this island houses a much larger Kong because of the enormous mountains.
  16. Thinking a 2019 release. I don't think LP should want more than one kaiju movie a year. I know PR2 is Universal and the Godzilla/Kong Universe is Warner Brothers, but still. LP now has a HUGE stake in China now since they are now part of a Chinese company.. it'll be absolutely massive there. Kaiju movies coming out from LP: KONG: SKULL ISLAND(2017) - Warner Brothers GODZILLA 2(2018) - Warner Brothers PACIFIC RIM 2(hoping 2019) - Universal GODZILLA VS. KONG(2020) - Warner Brothers Just makes sense for LP to try and do these one a year to not try and compete with each other.
  17. http://www.sggp.org.vn/dienanh/2016/2/411878/#sthash.j2uco2jq.uxfs&st_refdomain=t.co&st_refquery=/iuxqstcsda To help with the confusion this movie has.....
  18. I would probably call it more of a "retelling" of the character more than anything... It's mainly so it can fit within the world of Godzilla, so the two can battle eventually... which is totally fine. We've had 3 King Kong stories essentially the same, so good for WB and LP/Wanda for doing something DIFFERENT. Never in a million years did I think a Godzilla vs. Kong movie would happen again... it's kind of crazy thinking it's coming to life.. and I'm excited!
  19. It's going to suck waiting the two extra months(if this gets moved to May), but it'll do better business then I think. This article: http://vietnamnews.vn/life-style/281518/king-kong-filming-in-ninh-binh-gets-date.html about the upcoming filming in Vietnam, mentions a budget of 160m. That's a much better budget compared to the crazy rumored 200m a few weeks ago.
  20. They're shooting in Vietnam, and in the worlds largest cave there soon. Apparently, Reel Tours Hawaii, got some info stating the shoots there include(I'll put them in spoiler tags): I love the sound of that stuff! This is total 100% reboot of the character, King Kong, not associated with Peter Jacksons or any previous Kong film. A brand new look for the character... which is a good thing.
  21. There's something definitely going to be related to CLOVERFIELD in this. J.J. is risking a lot if they didn't edit this to connect to the first movie. I'm going to assume that when
