  1. God damn it, Tele! I refuse to watch LOTR for a second time this month! I refuse! Why did you do this to me?!!
  2. Yes, but with him I would've actually paid for the movie so it would've bombed a bit less spectacularly The first Pac Rim was the first movie I've seen in IMAX. And I LOVED it. When it got a sequel I was so happy. And then they drop Hunnam and bring Boyega, which has about as much charisma as a rock.
  3. It's more than that. If the movie makes under 450m DOM then I'm not sure it will actually manage 1b WW. If it follows the TFA ratio in France it will end up with an OW under the one of FB. In Germany the forecast points to an opening in the same range as FB. In Japan I am sure FB will win this battle. That leaves China where I doubt it will manage to beat TFA. RO has Christmas holidays but also an insane amount of competition OS. FB had excellent legs, both DOM and OS. I think the overall opening will be in the same range.
  4. So an OW in the 126-139m range using TFA preview-weekend ratio. Let's assume the multi is higher and it hits the upper ceiling which is 150m. That's still a far cry from the 175m+ prediction a lot of people around here are throwing. I'm gonna put my weekend prediction at 132-133m. Let's see how close I get.
  5. So 900m-1b from OS? That has absolutely 0% chance to happen. It will drop 50% or more from TFA in UK, France and Germany (and pretty much the rest of Europe). Asia will slow the overall drop a bit, but not by much. At this point the absolute ceiling I can see is 700m. And that is if it has amazing legs (better than TFA had). 600m is more likely and that is also depends on legs.
  6. Lol wutSo you're expecting it to make 800m in the US?
  7. @Doctor Rth and his FBeasts how's is the OD looking in Australia?
  8. Just for the heck of it I made a comparison with TFA. If it follows the same ratio from the opening in Paris, RO would end up very slightly above 1m admissions. It needs to held better than that.
  9. Isn't 1.3m a bit low? That would be FB level, despite FB opening in Paris to a bit more than 1/3 of RO's OD. But then again, FB had a freakishly huge 5-day opening considering how muted it's OD was.
  10. Lol, what did the man did to you? It's obvious that the studio is thriving under his lead. They make money. That is their purpose and they achieve it every year.
  11. Do you know the number for FB for comparison?
  12. I see. But yesterday's drop was around 14-15% so it's having really good holds anyway.
  13. 5:30PM Fantastic Beasts is down just 9% from last Tuesday. I'm really curious how RO will impact it on Friday.
  14. Yeah, this is massively dropping for F7. Paul Walker's death is what made that movie so popular. I've seen it just because of that and I know a lot of people who did the same. So maybe around 700m.
  15. Not particularly. The highest grossing Marvel movie in Japan is TA with about 45m. No other movie made even 30m and most of the stand-alone ones (except for IM) barely exceeded 10m. From the Japan thread a while ago: DS is headed for 10-15m max. And even if DS pulls an Avengers it still wouldn't matter. With that it would barely cross 700m. FB is headed for close to 800m.
  16. WB is letting Nolan to troll us just to keep our eyes from these reviews
  17. We just had our first snow of the year here. And it was a total surprise. I wake up and look outside and holy shit. And now I listen to this:
  18. According to Corpse, FB won the weekend in USD and lc, but it sold a few less tickets than Monster Trucks. Higher ticket prices. As for today, FB is 16% down from last Tuesday at 5:30PM. Yesterday it ended the day 20% down from the previous week at the usual locations.
  19. But that is you. It is your opinion. That doesn't mean the rest of the world thinks the same.
  20. There's no such thing as unnecessary sequel. By definition, why would a sequel be necessary. Why was TFA made? The story was done without it. Why was Avengers 2 made? You can't have a movie make 500m, let alone over 1.5b without hype behind it.
  21. Lol, c'mon. It is the highest grossing movie ever WW. Nothing even comes remotely close. And it's Cameron. I'm not a crazy Avatar fan, but a #4 WW rank and around 1.7b is the absolute floor for it. That is something no SW movie in the near future will touch.
  22. Do you have any idea how the presales for RO look? They are surprisingly weak here and that's worrying seeing how TFA holds the record for the biggest OW ever in USD. Walk-ins should be massive, but still...
