  1. It's easier to market something based on newer films not 20-30 years old ones. I love Zemeckis but I don't see how this is a problem. Flight is a great film btw, and Forrest Gump is absolute rubbish. There's no way I could watch this in IMAX 3D, it'd be terrifying.
  2. Sure it hasn't made as much as it could have otherwise, but they'll still make money off of it. 22M OW means 50M+ dom. If OS took the same drop from first film, it will have 63M+ overall, throw in DVD sales and it's a hit since budget was 30M.
  3. I have this song on itunes and I've literally played it 1058 times
  4. Yes, it's affecting some people's predictions of Avengers and Star Wars, a few other movies too. It's silly since looking at the hundreds of other films, rather than just one brand new one, would make more sense. I've never understood how someone can say "Well movie X is going to do 300M so movie Y must be going to do 400M"
  5. Wrong. Although they were shot at the same time, the three films are written as separate films; the novel is just written as one novel but sold in separate volumes. The three films all have traditional three acts. It's why they made so many changes and rearranged the storyline for the movies - otherwise the first two films would not have climaxes and would feel poorly paced.
  6. #7 78.78% Director: Peter Jackson Written by: Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens, Stephen Sinclair & Fran Walsh The astonishing second instalment of Jackson's epic adaptation of the legendary fantasy novel, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers charges into our list at #7. RT Consensus: "Balances spectacular action with emotional storytelling, leaving audiences both wholly satisfied and eager for the final chapter."
  7. Tim Roth getting an Oscar would be awesome.
  8. #8 77.32% Director: Richard Linklater Written by: Richard Linklater Filmed over 12 years, Richard Linklater's newest film is a story of growing up, and a genuinely remarkable cinematic achievement. It grows up past many excellent films on our list and finds its adulthood at an astounding rank #8. RT Consensus: "Epic in technical scale but breathlessly intimate in narrative scope, Boyhood is a sprawling investigation of the human condition."
  9. How about something from 2014? Since everyone here loves the 2014 films on the list...
  10. #9 76.83% Director: Paul Thomas Anderson Written by: Paul Thomas Anderson The tale of California's oil boom a hundred years ago, Paul Thomas Anderson makes his second, and final, appearance on our list, bringing with him the legendary Daniel Day-Lewis. There Will Be Blood mines through our list to reach a superb #9. RT Consensus: "Widely touted as a masterpiece, this sparse and sprawling epic about the underhanded "heroes" of capitalism boasts incredible performances by leads Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano, and is director Paul Thomas Anderson's best work to date."
  11. Want to provide evidence that the co-existence of LOTR had anything at all to do with its flopping?
  12. Why would they be worthy nominees? I know the Oscars are terrible but they're not that terrible.
  13. Hey, it's cool don't worry. Just answer the questions before April 30th and we won't murder you in your sleep
  14. Looks like Transformers 4 is being knocked down. What do you mean by first overperforming movie? You don't think any other film has overperformed in China??
