Is this another Venom 2 situation? Sony hid that movie from critics for so long only to get 60% on RT! A 40-60% on RT wouldn't be a bad score at all all things considered. But seriously...Sony completely dropped the ball on marketing. Should have attached trailer with Venom 2 and then 2 months of TV spots, posters, 2nd trailer and online coverage would have been good.

Sony is dumping this without much marketing. They started their campaign in October AFTER Venom 2 released. Don't understand why they didn't attach the first trailer with that. Probably thought of selling it to Hulu or Netflix or Amazon prime, but couldn't. 2900-3000 should have been the theatrical count.

So this adult drama on fashion industry will destroy Resident Evil. Impressive.

How is resident evil doing? Must be doing terrible as marketing started really late and it has been kinda shit. The movie most likely is a turkey as well.

Marvel needs to seriously hire someone else for F4 else we are in for another F4 turkey. That and they need better scriptwriters. The comedy and dialogues are getting worse with every passing film. Sick and tired of their formula.

I am hoping something similar in Avatar 2. JC kinda chickened out in Avatar. He flirted with the idea, but didn't go all out.

Andrew Garfield has best actor Oscar locked up this year. Sony must be thinking of making him a regular in future spiderman movies!!

I am curious to see the first teaser trailer. Hoping to see something in cinemacon or comic con. Ah 2009! The doom and gloom surrounding Avatar was amazing to witness. The worldwide imax preview events, 2nd trailer and reviews changed the tide completely.

Either bad times have started at marvel or it's just initial hiccups.

It hasn't released there, so how come the rating is so poor? Did the chinese movie going public fly over to nearby countries and watch it?

I wanted to enjoy this, but I guess such type of sci fi films are not for me. I need my to be visual and colorful with plenty of action.

I am interested in seeing what Venom 2 does in China. By the time it releases there, a HD copy will be on the internet. Hence, Sony might opt for spiderman to be released there in December. Day & date.

I surprisingly dug the movie. The opening scroll reminded me of star wars movies. Lol. Some of the visuals in this movie are amazing, but repetitive. The main problem with this film was the acting & dialogues. This can be said for the other MCU films as well, but in those cases the actors made up with their charisma. Also, those movies had an upbeat feeling to them. This film is trying to be both serious and at the same time adding fun element. The tonal inconsistencies are jarring. The whole bit with Kumail was not funny at all. Not sure why he even roided out. Richard Madden was so cold and lifeless in the movie. This really needed a script makeover. It is trying to be two different movies. Still, I enjoyed it for the action, visuals and the post credit scenes. 6/10. I would prefer Eternals & GOTG crossover rather than Eternals 2. If marvel has the balls to do an Eternals 2, I hope they stick to a particular tone and run with it. They need to find right actors though. I felt barring 3-4, this was miscast enterprise.

James Cameron adores Paul WS Anderson movies, so he is biased. Likes that PWSA was a huge proponent of 3D.

This review echoes my feelings in this movie perfectly. I would rather have more Valerian than Dune. No HD prints available online and they are fun films unlike Dune...damn..watched it...what's all the hype about?

Both are comic book movies based on Marvel comics.

The movie lacks the energy and fun bombastic action of previous MCU movies. Hence, the muted response. Hulk 2003 all over again with less exciting visuals. That movie is fresh on RT!! Papa Feige isn't too happy today. The sooner Spiderman comes the better unless he thought this was a better movie and an Oscar contender....*gulps*
