As much as I am looking forward to this, I am not sure about its boxoffice prospect. It's been 15 hrs and it has mustered only 700+K views on jimmy Kimmel official youtube channel. The retweets and likes on twitter are also very very weak. It has only 11k followers on official twitter channel. You guys need to realize that Peter Jackson's Kong had lots of buzz, anticipation and hype surrounding it, but it was a major BO dissapointment. I don't feel the excitement for this movie as much as that and the 2014 Godzilla. And yet Godzilla did only 500+ WW after big opening weekends. Unless this gets amazing reviews and wom is great, I am afraid the WW BO won't even match 2005 Kong or 2014 Godzilla because the excitement for it is simply no where to those movies 4 months out. Moreover, people have LOTS of great choices that month. March 3rd - Logan March 10 - kong March 17 - beauty&beast March 23 - arthur, power rangers March 31- ghost in shell Kong is sandwiched between two big movies...last wolverine film which should make solid money and a disney EVENT in its second weekend..the last time another Disney movie (Narnia) released close to Kong, it didn't turn out well...this disney movie is locked to open to 200+M and 2+ billion worldwide..

I liked the trailer but i am not too sure about the humor and some of the CGI. I am sure by the time the movie is out the CGI will look great...still..something is off..not quite sure what.. Still will watch it in theatres because i love big monster films.

This is how you make posters and look at all that talent. HOLY FUCK. WB has best marketing department in hollywood. Yes, even better than Disney. Imagine if their tentpole films were actually any good...could easily be grossing much more... Hopefully, kong bucks the trend and is awesome.

I love a comeback story. To be fair, The Visit was a mini comeback. Now looks like a full on comeback. Please no more studio mid-high budget films unless a story demands it.

Deepwater horizon was the more commercial movie but bombed at boxoffice eventhough it got good reviews.

February and March look better than April+May+June.

I wish i could add that but...we don't get an avatar sequel every 2-3 years..plus i consider it more of a JC franchise as he takes his sweet time.. Moreover, you never know how avatar 2 will fare.. Deadpool 2 could also go completely south..in which case fox is fucked. But i think it should be able to match the first one..then xforce+dp should bring in more moolah..

Thank god the franchise is over. I wish we had gotten a scrat spinoff, but too late now. Fox has only 1 viable franchise left -Deadpool and friends. If they fuck up DP2 then they are screwed.

The visuals are really cool and it has aesthetics that I prefer in a cyber punk/futuristic/techno thriller movie. But this is from the wife cheater who directed Snow White and Huntsman, which also had cool visuals, but rest of the movie sucked. I should watch the animated movie to see what the deal is about.. I would say next year has lots of cool sci fi films offering different flavours. The more the merrier.

Ballsy move to do a remake of arguably the best Dracula/vampire movie as your sophomore effort.

Umm still needs to have a solid story and performances otherwise critics won't be kind. Moreover, the star wars and guradians comparison puts it at a disadvantage. Marvel and Star Wars loonies/supporting critics will put their magnifying glasses on when critiquing this.

The movie has a 180 million budget. You are telling me he can't afford well known leads + rest of cast on a 10-20 million budget and finish rest of the movie on a 140-150 million budget? I mean i doubt dane and cara cost much..maybe rihana..2 million tops..she is a non actress and cannot command a big paycheck. I feel Luc is spending close to 170 on just the sets, vfx action and stuff which is outrageous.

Dane has this dopy eyes as if he is bored. Cara is just one note expressionless...i wish Besson had hired actors with charisma..moreover they come across as young teenagers..sigh. Rest of the stuff looks awesome. But dammit. Huge miscasts. If this movie flops it willl be because of these leads not because of action or vfx.

So happy to see the midnight numbers for Arrival. Paramount should have released it in 3000+ theatres. Would have done 35-40 M ow. They fucked up. Let's hope WOM will carry it to 120+ DOM and 300+ OS
