Of course it is. Titanic opened more than double than ET and even though made a 20 x, no movie has a close multipler with this kind of opening. 15 weeks number 1, 9th weekend more than first, more than 100 with 1M+, this records are for eternity.. -
Beating IW i think is enough for a movie that almost opened half of this.

Only Titanic could do this money, after 25 years, some re releases and being available in platforms since long time ago. The power of an unique moviegoing experience. When will be its next release? Maybe for its 40 years, or when JC says goodbye to the industry, we´ll see, but it´s very probably that never again we can see a run like this anymore.

i would love it, but how it´s possible with only an 0.3 M weekend? It needs 4 or 5 weeks more with sub 10 % drops...

Maybe you´re right.. Avatar will get finally the epic 5x and enter in this very exclusive club for movies that opened over 70 M, i think is a great fact, especially in this post 2020 age.

Almost 6,8 M admits, very close to 7 M, but still needs 2 weeks more with drops under - 30 %, let´s see what happens!!

3 M is not so bad, after it´s release was 10 monts ago, i think is a very respectable number in these times of buying and throw away things fast. Really a legendary run for TGM, the second best for me in the last 25 years.

Amazing late legs for Avatar -7% this weekend. It seemed really hard weeks ago to catch TGM and SW7, but now seems very possible!!

Yes!! Very good news if this drop goes real on sunday. I was starting to feel the magical 10 M number was in danger, but with this hold everything changes, at least for the moment. Not the same in France with 14 M and Spain with 7 M, but at least would be nice if Germany gets the number 10

I think is more that only that movies had some data, because in European countries, some movies with the highest admits are Ben´Hur, Ten Commandments, SOund of Music and they are far older than Spielberg´s, so i think is more a question of lack of data. Anyway, i think is not possible that Jaws was more succesful than Star wars...

All this low grosses like AntMan and another big movies since 2020, give more value to the epic 2.3 B of Avatar or even more the incredible 1.5 B from TGM. In this ages going over 1 B is really really difficult.

Its very difficult to affirm it, cause pre-1982 there was almost no OS data, maybe some of the biggest countries in western Europe, Japan and Australia. Maybe Star Wars did it, but is impossible to know.

Insane summer weekdays? Was an insane run from the first to its last day. The second leggiest movie in history even between movies from 70 M opening. From a wide release, is the second most spectacular run in the last 25 years, only behind, of course, Avatar.

Yeah, absolutely amazing run, already very similar to TGS.
