  1. Someone agrees that BvS will be the highest grossing film of DC? I see no other film of DC (Justice League 1 and 2, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, etc.) doing more than BvS. In short, the chance that DC had to make a film that has scooped more than 1 billion was wasted. In my opinion, if BvS was a good movie make easy 1.5 billion. Congratulations Zack Snyder! You should be arrested!
  2. The film will not have long legs, no use DC fans create great expectations. I watched the film Sunday and I can say, FILM IS NOT GOOD! No film poorly rated by critics have long legs (except Transformers). BvS had an extraordinary potential, Snyder managed to finish it! The strong opening much should the public's curiosity and popularity of the characters.
  3. If the movie was really good and positive reviews, BvS would double what will the end of its global journey, the great start much is due to the marketing and curiosity to watch the two greatest superheroes of all time. Movie poorly rated by critics that goes well at the box office is called Transformers ... and be compared with Transformers is very bad for the DC Universe. Out Zack Snyder!
  4. No use trying to reduce the negative criticism of BvS. Certainly affect the film legs, the only franchise that does well with negative criticism is Transformers, largely due to China, which is not the case of BvS. (Which must make a $ 150 million there). The first weekend will be misleading, the film should open rapturous worldwide, but in the coming weeks should lose LOTS of force. What hunch you to the final total around the world?
  5. I'm sure that has nothing to do with cultural issues, the book (The Little Prince) is less known in China than in the US and yet the film was the fourth largest animation 2015. Everyone knows that the Chinese market is much more complex and difficult to understand that the American. I'm sure also that the production company of the film (On Animation Studios and Orange Studio) not contratataram one voice cast filled with American stars (James Franco, Rachel McAdams, Jeff Bridges, Marion Cotillard, Benicio Del Toro) to have a launch via Netflix . In short, it was a bitch of a slutty what Paramount did.
  6. The closest I came from Canada numbers was this: Estimated Friday-Sunday ticket sales for French- and English-language films in Quebec, according to Cinéac. 1. Deadpool $583,243 U.S. ($798,081 Cdn) 2. Kung Fu Panda 3 $160,268 ($219,237) 3. How to Be Single / Célibataire: Mode d’emploi $87,414 ($119,613) 4. Le Petit Prince / Le Petit Prince $86,647 ($118,564) 5. Race $85,191 ($116,572) 6. The Revenant / Le Revenant $69,376 ($94,931) 7. Belle et Sébastien 2, l’aventure continue $62,004 ($84,819) 8. The Choice / Un choix $45,013 ($61,613) 9. Zoolander 2 $42,850 ($58,617) 10. Star Wars: The Force Awakens / Star Wars: Le réveil de la force $40,358 ($55,241) http://montrealgazette.com/storyline/box-office-quebec-and-beyond-deadpool-is-no-1-partout-but-belle-et-sebastien-2-nuzzles-in-at-no-7-in-quebec Are numbers of the second week only from Quebec, proportionately Little Prince does not seem to be hurting.
  7. I'm giving as closed this topic! But before I will make an outburst against the American film market ... First believe that "The Little Prince" deserved a major release in the United States, it is the non-American animated film most successful of all the times overseas, grossing more than 100 million around the world, not to have been released in key markets such as Spain, the UK and Australia. I'm sure the film crew much longed for a nomination for the Oscar. What is clear in American society is protectionism! What is well accepted abroad most often is ignored in the US, let us take two examples: Formula 1 and Football (ridiculously called soccer), both are indisputable successes in almost every country in the world, the US is looked down upon. It could not be different in the cinema (box office), foreign films of success are almost always ignored. That is why I consider it very important to the rise of the Chinese market, most importantly the annual limit of 34 movies. The Chinese market is a second option (soon to be the first) for independent producers seeking a place in the sun. It's been really cool experience to change the world scene at the box office, no later than four years the American market will be protagonist being replaced by Chinese. Returning to the topic theme (The Little Prince), here are some interesting figures of the film: BOX OFFICE: CHINA: $ 24 million - grossed more than Inside Out and Hotel Transylvania 2. FRANCE: $ 11.6 million - grossed equal to The LEGO Movie and more than Big Hero 6 and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 1 and 2. ITALY: $ 10.1 million - grossed more than The LEGO Movie, The Good Dinosaur and very close to Zootopia. BRAZIL: $ 7.3 million - grossed more than Home (Dreamworks) , The LEGO Movie and Big Hero 6. MEXICO: $ 6.1 million - grossed more than Planes: Fire & Rescue. JAPAN: $ 5 million - grossed more than The LEGO Movie. SOUTH KOREA: $ 3.5 million - grossed more than The LEGO Movie and Home (Dreamworks). ARGENTINA: $ 1.8 million - grossed more than Home (Dreamworks) and Big Hero 6. Non-American animated film grossing of all time. CRITICAL: - Enshrined in the Cesar Award (French Oscar) for best animated film. - 94% Fresh no Rotten Tomatoes (33 critics) Around the world, public success and critical! In the US, ignored!
  8. When we got ready to close this topic ... The film's director posts a cryptic text on his twitter. Could someone tell me if this is possible? "Netflix continues its movie theater invasion with a new film from Bob Odenkirk" https://twitter.com/happyproduct Is it possible for Netflix to the release of a film both in theaters and in streaming?
  9. It is with sadness that I receive this news. Disparagement total American distributors with this beautiful animation. The Little Prince deserved a wide release in the United States!
  10. I will find it very funny if The Little Prince win the Oscar (Academy Award) in 2017. (I know, it is unlikely) Fuck Paramount!
  11. Although the book is not very known in the United States, it has a base of reputable fans. I believe that in respect of these fans the minimum that Paramount should do is issue a clarification note. I do not know what prompted Paramount to take this absurd decision a week ago the premiere of the film, but it's a complete lack of respect for the companies involved in the production (On Animation Studios, Orange Studio, Wild Bunch). The amazing thing is that Paramount chose to release Anomalisa and Little Prince not. Anomalisa made miserable $ 2,658,258 domestic... now I wonder: Does Anomalisa has more appeal than The Little Prince? Of course not!!! Does anyone know if there is precedent in the history of cinema a distributor cancel the release of the film for a week of its debut?
  12. There is a week of release, Paramount decided to cancel the distribution of the French animated film "The Little Prince". The reason for cancellation was not informed, but I do not remember a similar situation in the history of cinema, I think is unheard of. Even the movie already appears on the Rotten Tomatoes homepage with approval of 93%. The Little Prince is being considered a success, having raised more than 105 million around the world and recently won the French Oscar (Cesar) for best animation. I hope that Paramount has respect for fans and discuss what happened. SHAME!
  13. The Little Prince has just won the Oscar of French cinema, "Cesar Awards". I believe this accredits to be remembered by the Academy at the Oscars 2017. So follow my list: 1- Zootopia 2- Findind Dory 3- Moana 4- The Little Prince 5- ????
  14. China and Brazil (despite the economic crisis in the country) had growth in its revenues, which other countries grew in 2015?
  15. Hello! I will clash with some of the subject in which this topic was created, but it is for a just cause. Some already know my 'pilgrimage' to the film 'The Little Prince', I've been watching this animation since its launch in France on July 29, 2015, because it is a French animation we can say that the movie is a hit grossed over 100 million worldwide and the French animation's most successful story abroad. Today won the "Favorite movie by French public in 2015" and was nominated for a Cesar Award for best animation, considered the French Oscar. The Little Prince will be released on March 28 in the United States by Paramount Pictures. Today, I went on IMDB site and to my surprise the release date in the UK will be the 24th of February, Netflix !!! ??? What is it??? Can anyone confirm me if this is real ??? And if it's true, you can do that ??????? How can a film that was released in cinemas around the world to be "downgraded" to that level, especially with the country's third largest film market in the world ??? Read about The Weistein Company have something against Marion Cotillard, is true this information? Someone says that is a lie, please! "Sorry for my english"
  16. Or am I completely uninformed or have read some nonsense here. Now an end opening weekend with $ 60 million is disappointing? Will do almost double the US openness to it is still disappointing? Hard to understand!
  17. I am Brazilian and I am happy with the Oscar nomination for an animation produced in my country. Not yet watched "The Boy and the World" (do not intend to watch), is not the kind of animation that attracts my attention, would not pay to watch (maybe not for free) but congratulations to the film crew. It is the typical movie that appeals to the Academy. On the other hand, I am saddened by the absence of "Peanuts" and "The Little Prince" (the latter was left out because it was not released in a timely manner in the US, maybe in 2017). In my opinion, the list of nominees is the weakest in recent years, of course, except for "Inside Out".
  18. Correcting me: The Little Prince is the French film animation most successful of all time "OS" has raised to date over $ 90 million still missing debut in major markets such as USA, UK, Australia and Spain . Arthur and the Mininimoys grossed worldwide $ 107 million of these being US $ 46 million from only France, while The Little Prince took in $ 11.5 million in France. In all other territories, except Belgium and Germany, The Little Prince earned more.
  19. Simply sensational for "Quo Vado?"! One doubt, as "The Little Prince" has accumulated so far in Italy? The animation is getting good numbers, it would be possible for Italy to overcome the figures of France ($ 11,542.000) and become the second largest market for the film?
  20. Really ... Maybe it was proportionally the worst opening for The Little Prince so far, very disappointing for the film. Remembering that this animation (The Little Prince) is already the most successful French animation history, has done decent in most areas hit Star Wars this weekend in Italy. I expected more from Venezuela.
  21. The Little Prince must do something around 320,000 admissions in its opening weekend, almost the same number of admissions made in Brazil in his OW, earning US $ 1.7 million. As 320,000 admissions worth in South Korean currency?
  22. I imagine that with this number of admissions Peanuts The Little Prince has not been below. But could anyone confirm?
