  1. That puts MI7's 6-day total roughly $5.6 million behind Indy's. The second weekend will likely be lower too thanks to the effect of Barbieheimer, but hopefully it can start to gain ground from the 3rd weekend onwards.
  2. Getting Madagascar vibes from this. The Christmas holiday period pretty much ensures this will be a hit given it's the only kids-skewing film like Puss was last year.
  3. This is like the sixth time Awkwafina has voiced an animal (third time voicing a bird). Depending on her role in Kung Fu Panda 4, that will be seven.
  4. Doubt Sound of Freedom will drop that hard. The increase this weekend is a sign that WOM is still building (helped by the theater expansion).
  5. What a shocking drop from Crystal Skull's ~$475 million OS minus China. In admissions, the drop is even more horrible.
  6. Not often we see Taiwan make it into the Top 10. That's a strong opening compared to the China number considering the market size difference.
  7. The Numbers includes the earnings from Russia, which Universal is not counting itself. Probably because it’s not an official distribution due to the boycott.
  8. There's still a potential Top Gun 3 for Paramount. Would probably still gross more than the average MI film even with a big drop from Maverick.
  9. Didn't think it was possible to top the 80% drop Shazam 2 had on its 5th weekend (lost almost 1800 theaters).
  10. It did but a major theater chain (Aeon) no longer gets counted.
  11. There's Mimorin, but it only accounts for 45% of the total number of theaters. https://mimorin2014.com/blog-date-20230713.html
  12. There actually isn't a Haunted Mansion in either Hong Kong or Shanghai Disneyland. There is a pseduo replacement at Hong Kong called Mystic Manor which doesn't have any ghosts whatsoever and is just about a magical music box making artifacts come to life.
  13. That was the 2004 Hellboy which grossed $99 million WW. The 2019 one grossed just $55 million WW.
  14. Very possible. It fell out of the Top 10 on the weekend, so it's going to lose a ton of theaters again this weekend. Could see it drop around 60% or more (especially with heavy competition from the male-skewing MI7). When Barbie + Oppenheimer open, its run will essentially be done.
  15. Based on that report, I guess it really was that fictional map causing issues in Vietnam. Guess they saw something that only vaguely resembled the nine-dash-line and banned the film because of it.
  16. Looks like The Flash managed to pull ahead of Asteroid City by a measly $13,000 after actuals. 11 (8) The Flash Warner Bros. $2,265,830 -57% 1,723 -995 $1,315 $105,210,665 4 12 (9) Asteroid City Focus Features $2,252,795 -47% 1,111 -790 $2,028 $24,017,135 4
  17. Given the current numbers, $1.35 billion WW is probably going to be a slow crawl and just barely get there in the end.
  18. To make matters more confusing, The Numbers adjusted their OS number down from $777 million to $770 million. Domestic Box Office $573,790,110 Details International Box Office $770,482,289 Details Worldwide Box Office $1,344,272,399
  19. Wonder Woman is the record for sole female director. If including co-directors, then the record is Captain Marvel with $153 million OW.
  20. Do you mean the tweet from Luiz? He rounded up the figure from $1.347 billion WW.
  21. Only on The Numbers, which is about $10 million higher than every other source (including Universal's official reports). Same issue with Fast X, another Universal release.
  22. The Flash could go as low as #12 this weekend, while Elemental holds #4 position despite opening at the same time but $25 million lower. What a stark contrast of excellent vs terrible legs.
  23. Does Crazy Rich Asians count? That grossed $175 million DOM.
