  1. Not always the case, but good examples. On the other hand though Facebook surpassed and destroyed Myspace, and Playstation and Xbox are at the top now instead of pioneers Nintendo and Sega.
  2. Cloverfield was always going to be frontloaded. Edge of Tomorrow was undone by horrible marketing. Not really disagreeing with your argument, but those are bad examples.
  3. Bums me out how Mickey Rourke kinda disappeared from movies again recently.
  4. It's all relative. Yeah, they have to be in shape and they have to have a strong measure of physical resilience, but it's nothing compared to what boxers or MMA fighters go through. Combat sports is the best of both worlds for me. It's athletic competition and it's ridiculous theatrics. People watch sports for heroes mostly. I can't get that from pro wrestling.
  5. There's plenty to laugh at. Believe me. But I get that some people just wont ever be able to take combat seriously as a sport.
  6. I understand all of that. I know the fans know it's fake. But the acting isn't even good, nor are the stories. The drama in combat sports is not only real (most of the time), but it's just as entertaining.
  7. Hey just so you guys know...you can experience basically the same thing, but, you know...it's real...if you watch boxing or especially MMA. That's right. There's a super masculine soap opera for men where big personalities fight each other for glory. The only difference is it's all real and it takes technical skills and actual athletic prowess to accomplish it. Sorry, I just don't understand pro wrestling's appeal when there's the real thing on another channel.
  8. Some ppl here have a child's view of competent storytelling and what constitutes good filmmaking.
  9. I dunno, yeah I see people on their phone sometimes, but it's typically only one or two people out of 200. I'd hardly call that a harbinger of doom for society. There's always been dumb people, they're just easier to recognize now.
  10. Amen, this place isn't for fucking cheerleading. And it's especially not for cheerleading shit movies.
  11. Counting on critics to decide whether you go to the theater or rent it isn't crazy. It's a good way to save money.
  12. Kind of funny how reviews have lowered expectations. 170mil OW would be good, but it's definitely disappointing when you compare to others in the genre.
  13. Huh? The talk surrounding Man of Steel was positive until reviews hit. There was no pre-reviews bad buzz. I for one was confident it'd be a winner based off of the trailers.
  14. Great trailer, I just hope they don't brush over the corporate malfeasance aspect in all of this. Something tells me the flag-waving Berg is going to stick to platitudes of heroism instead. Which is fine, but I wanted something else.
  15. Actually makes plenty of sense. Hill and Tatum get recruited by the MiB like Will did in the first movie. Done.
  16. Rush too. As for Butler, I don't think he has any other mode besides hammy.
  17. Especially since John Wick 2 could easily end up grossing just a little more than the first, which isn't much.
  18. Eh? He's the best part of the movie. Only one who seems to realize he's in a shitshow and plays with it.
