  1. Inside his head, Zack Snyder must be re-playing this song over and over again:
  2. I never said that this is a full, undisclosed look at a potential Miller JLA movie. I only said the word 'snippet' - it could provide some form of education on what the movie may have looked like. Overly especific I'm being here
  3. For your consideration, we already got a snippet of what a Tim Miller JLA movie would look like:
  4. So.... any news on previews and/or OS numbers, here? This IS a box office thread after all, I think. Not from me. But he's too busy plotting which type of shoes will Bryce Dallas Howard be in when she outruns a raptor in Jurassic Solar System.
  5. Not just Portugal, it's all of the continent. Pretty normal thing after a terrorist attack over here though; pretty sure the same thing happened after the London and Madrid bombings a decade ago. Portugal itself is not THAT worried compared to the real ticking bomb-steppers, though. Have we even had a terrorist attack over here? Not that they need a reason, but atm they don't see us as a vital target.
  6. I think airports were closed, and I've heard about banks, but that's about it.
  7. I agree with that, from a story standpoint it is more appealing for psychological dark than physical. But if you don't engage yourself in the plot, if you just countdown the events as a viewer (as if you were watching the news), I would say DD S2's stuff is more fucked up as a whole. But oh well. They're both great shows, that's what matters.
  8. JJ is certainly more horrifying from a psychological standpoint (although it does have its physically sick scenes too), but DD S2 is a pure carnage festival. That was some fucked up shit all season long.
  9. I assume you be talking about Jessica Jones. Ehh, Daredevil is darker (well, Season 2 at the very least). Not creepier, but certainly darker.
  10. 200M is possible, and wouldn't be shocking.... before the poor overall reception dropped down. Now, audiences could still adore it THAT much (Jurassic World wasn't exactly a critic darling, and it ran over everything in its way - although it did have something which BVS apparently does not, and that's constant entertainment, which was much more favorable for its WOM), but at this point, I don't see it. I'm not lowering my 178.5 prediction, but I doubt it'll enter the 200 Club. The only movie this year with that potential is Rogue One, and it's w/skepticism behind it.
  11. Besides that reasoning, it's also symbolism for him being bound to a bed the same way that the children he raped were (most likely). The only real question I have about the film is regarding the Greed killing. How exactly is cutting off a pound of one's own flesh payment for greed? Is it like a "noble" self-sacrifice type thing that a greedy person would never do? I'm only asking since this has always been the only killing whose symoblic meaning never immediately clicked w/me, unlike all the others.
  12. Minions did a billion because kids love them. They are the reason why the DM movies were as big hits as they were, and putting them in the frontline was essentially a ticket for Universal and Illumination to roll around in a pile of Minion-painted cash. Nevermind the millions they make off of Minions merchandising on top of that.
  13. Aww, Zootopia lost grip of the biggest animated 3rd weekend ever by a toe nail Ah well, it's all better for my Derby anyway
  14. BVS - 178.5M MBFGW2 - 12.5M Wishing you a quick recovery of the basement, btw.
  15. Finding Dory, 405M Zootopia, 315M Moana, 288M The Secret Life Of Pets, 230M The Angry Birds Movie, 155M Ice Age: Collision Course, 145M Kung Fu Panda 3, 140M Sing, 135M Storks, 120M Sausage Party, 80M
  16. My favorite movie of all time. Factually one of the greatest movies of all time, period. Some of the best performances in the careers of the star studded cast (especially in Spacey's case). Masterful dialogue and world building. Grizzly, unafraid to shock - but its shock aren't unearned or done for the hell of it; they have a place within the narrative and within the movie's whole purpose: to put the viewer to think about the world that surrounds him. Is it one of the most cynical films ever created? Absolutely. But cutting to the chase here, as far as filmmaking is concerned, this is a masterpiece. Fincher's masterpiece, more precisely. And I love most of his work - Fight Club, Zodiac, Social Network, Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl... all incredible. Se7en puts them all to shame, and that's saying something. So proud of this baby doing nearly 200M adjusted in America (almost crazy to think about this kind of BO success for an original, shockingly violent R-rated mystery thriller).
  17. I actually think it can indeed challenge 2010 for the 200M record. Zootopia's a go already, and Finding Dory is an absolute lock too. Moana surely has to make it. The Secret Life Of Pets is more than likely gonna make it too, in spite of the rough competition - let's not pretend that promotion so far hasn't been every bit as fantastic as it was for Zootopia. And then we have a few wildcards like Angry Birds, Ice Age and Sing that could break out. It's no guarantee that it'll beat 2010, but I think it can invoke a challenge here.
  18. ONLY ABOUT 10 MORE MILLION UNTIL DEADPOOL BREAKS THE WW R-RATED RECORD!!! Deadpool 2 = First R-rated movie to break 1B WW => STATUS: CONFIRMED.
  19. OH MY GOD, SPECTRE DID IT!!! Certainly not cleanly, as fudged as James Bond is a killer; BUT WHO CARES? SPECTRE FINALLY MADE IT TO 200M! That's probably the biggest news of the weekend, tbh As for the other big news of the weekend: oh boy... Allegiant. A few weeks ago, I was calling for many people's verdict that there was a possibility that Zootopia would threepeat even ahead of Allegiant to be a fail. No way, even w/the non-existant hype and the poor WOM, that the third chapter in a franchise whose two previous entries opened to 50M+, would drop THAT bad. But low and behold. ~50% drop from both Divergent and Insurgent's openings; didn't even made it to 30M. Wow. Certainly not a Gods Of Egypt type of flop for Lionsgate, w/a much higher opening and a slightly lower budget - but even that movie has a silver lining, given that it has made nearly 130M WW (probably thanks to China). Is Divergent even that big in the Middle Kingdom anyway? It'll cross 100M WW, for sure, but the previous movies both made it north of 200M; this one probably won't even cut that mark. Unless the fourth movie (which apparently is totally made up) is a David Fincher masterpiece in quality, the franchise is dead and raped. Especially w/that movie coming out in the middle of the Summer of the Year of Death, aka 2017. If Mockingjay wasn't the absolute final nail in the coffin for splitting the last book into two parts, this had to be it. But now for other more lighthearted news: Zootopia posting the 8th biggest 3rd weekend of all time, the 2nd biggest for a non-sequel/original and the biggest for an animated movie period! And w/600M WW in the border, not entirely but thanks to China's massive haul too, a billion is in the talks here. Not to mention that, w/this type of run, hardly would 300M DOM not be in the horizon. What a crazy ass run. Between Deadpool and this, 2016 has been a uber-exciting year so far. The final test to see how well it does will be the forthcoming week, though. Just how much of a bite will Batfleck take from it? Also, Deadpool and 10 Cloverfield Lane all pulling in some badass drops; the former still in the 20's range in spite of a theater decrease, and the latter doing a sub 50% drop while having to face the moral adversity of its spiritual predecessor suffering a 70% in its 2nd weekend many years prior. Unbelievable. London Has Fallen also w/an acceptable drop, it seems like that movie's audience is pleased w/what its getting, and the same goes for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, despite that never really being very note-worthy to begin with. Miracles From Heaven surprising and pulling the 15M debut expected for the 4-day weekend. Nice for it, I guess; shows you the market fidelity there. I guess since nobody went to see Messiah, and Risen's course is pretty much complete, the market was fresh for something else. Now we'll see the type of drops this is suffering; especially curious to seeing next week's performance. Midnight Special also w/a satisfying debut; if it does get a wide expansion, it'll be intriguing to see how it meshes w/the mainstream. Meanwhile, Messiah... won't even worth talking about it. It or Grimsby, which luckily made it to a 1M for the whole weekend. The Bronze still made both of those look like Avatar or TFA by comparision, though.
  20. It's possible that it's drop can be close to half of Cloverfield's 68% 2nd weekend spike. Pretty awesome. Stronger legs than the first movie confirmed; now all we need is for those legs to carry it all the way to match or even beat the original's 80M for this to work out just as flawlessly as possible for Paramount. Seriously, they kinda needed this win desperately. Their 2015 was awful besides Rogue Nation, SpongeBob and Daddy's Home.
  21. Next week's top 4 predictions (this week's results are pretty much in set place already): Zootopia - 24.2M The Divergent Series: Allegiant - 13.6M My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 - 12.7M 10 Cloverfield Lane - 8.6M Am I forgetting anything at all? Nah, I don't think so. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - 178.5M
  22. Somebody needs to tell the local zoo that one of their trolls went on the loose. Might take hours for sane society to hold the chaos off.
  23. But you can only truly say that you've watched the greatest trilogy ever to Ethan if you've seen the Toy Story trilogy.
