The opening is high enough to guarantee a total above ¥1 billion (~$10 million), and the critical reception is good that it could leg its way to a ¥1.5 billion (~$15 million) total. >The Disastrous Life of Saiki K was perhaps the biggest "success" this weekend, selling an impressive 155,882 admissions over the weekend on 275 screens. The live-action adaptation of the manga is a co-production with Asmik Ace, but it is Sony's second biggest debut of the year behind Spider-Man: Homecoming. >American Made had to settle for third place, selling 133,838 admissions over the weekend on 291 screens. This is an okay opening, though it does comes in below Cruise's last couple films. A ¥1 billion (~$10 million) total is doable, but it's far from a lock. >Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel, Ch. I - Presage Flower fell hard, which isn't surprising, though its drop is higher than other comparable anime films, such as Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale from earlier this year. It could have some giveaways or special events in the coming weekends, which is typical of the genre, so it could recover as a result. >War of the Planet of the Apes fell much harder than its predecessor in its second weekend, and will probably miss the ¥1 billion (~$10 million) milestone now -- very disappointing result for the third film in the Apes franchise. >Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Ch. I - Koudou hasn't had its actual figure released yet, which is becoming a trend for Showgate releases for some reason, but it came in ninth place in ticket sales. So for now, I'm leaving its estimate above and will update it when/if its actual is released. >Atomic Blonde, as Algren put it, could be renamed Atomic Bomb. It certainly wasn't expected to do much, though, but debut in tenth place on 44,528 admissions over the weekend frame (69,065 since opening on Friday) is very poor.

The UK is the leading international territory on $41.7m, followed by Germany $29.4m, Mexico $27.2m, Brazil $19.4m, Australia $18.6m, and Russia $18.5m.
