  1. I just realized I had a movie (Fox Hunter, 1995) in 40th place that should have been in 95th place due to scoring error. Doesn't matter, no one else saw it anyway
  2. I haven't seen this yet and it looks right up my alley (one of the only Bong Joon-ho movies I haven't seen) > And Bong wasn't even the best director making films then (or now) Agreed.
  3. Off to a good unexpected start, thanks! And lmao @ your comments chas
  4. I have a feeling South Korea will have a minor breakthrough this year? Hopefully?
  5. It would indeed be hilarious a remake with the likes of Jack Black. The premise sounds so ridiculous but when you watch the movie it actually works, somehow. Really liked how idiosyncratic the girl was. I haven't watched nearly as many Korean films as I'd like to have, but so far I'm really digging it. To think it all started for me with curiosity because Korean action movies were lauded as similar to HK, so I watched The Man From Nowhere, and then I worked from there. Nowadays I'm enjoying their romance/drama output more than action tbh. There is a sincerity and sensibility to Korean movies that is really really hard to find elsewhere. Definitely gonna watch a lot more. Before my foreign movies were 90+% Hong Kong, 10% the rest. Nowadays I'm looking to make it more like 40% HK 40% Korea 20% rest of world. ...even starting to get into kdramas Talk about getting sucked in!
  6. Keep in mind my favorite thing about Hong Kong movies is that they particularly excel at action so yeah, my favorites are mostly action movies (especially martial arts) although there are outliers. My first recommendation would be to start with movies directed by Jackie Chan himself. He weaved Western style of filmmaking a bit more into his films (especially Buster Keaton) than most other HK filmmakers so it's more approachable. Police Story would be a great starter IMO. Then you work from there. Here's my list: 1. Pan's Labyrinth (2006) - Spain 2. Thirst (2009) - South Korea 3. Peking Opera Blues (1986) - Hong Kong 4. 7. Out of the 3 Original Trilogy heroes, 2 kill themselves through force exhaustion, while the other one gets murdered by his own son, who then also proceeds to kill himself through force exhaustion. I mean. That tells you everything right there Pitiful movie indeed, not surprised you so heartedly disliked this Tele
  8. I like it so far, not a homerun or anything but it's fun and feels fresh. The CGI on She-Hulk is distracting at times but this has been discussed to death so yeah... depends whether it's annoying to you or not. I don't like how they portrayed Hulk however, again it seems the character has been "reduced" for lack of a better word to nothing more than a vessel for somebody/something else to happen. His appearance in 2012's THE AVENGERS remains his best and it's not even close. Since then he's been a punching bag for writers.
  9. I was expecting more tbh, most of what they've shown we already knew from SDCC Werewolf by Night looks surprisingly amazing though
  10. People live still get to be there, get the hype, all the goodies from attending. Really don't get why getting a simple livestream ruins your experience or diminish it
  11. No movie announcement for Star Wars laughable really Aside from a few diehard fans, Lucasfilm really have no clue what people really want
  12. The Star Wars subreddit mods are brain-dead Lucasfilm are currently on stage announcing stuff and they don't even have a thread up. All new submissions are set to "moderate first", so there's literally nothing on the sub right now regarding this. Genius
