  1. I guess we're doing tier lists now. Added TV Left > right, so Infinity War would be #1 (in truth though, top 3 are interchangeable for me)
  2. I thought episode 3 was a letdown, personally. I dunno it's just the direction and writing that I think were bad, feels like cheap TV, and H o w e v e r . . . FUCK the people who bully the actress who plays Reva. Regardless of what you think of her performance, there is no legitimate reason for bullying an actress like that. Bunch of racist babies. Also, I have zero notion of Clones Wars / Rebels, so all the backstory/background info is totally unknown to me (so no bias here in terms of established material), and I just absolutely do not see how Reva's character can be problematic? Like what are people seeing that I'm not? She's totally fine for the role. Not great, not bad, fine. Are they mad because she replaces somebody? I don't get it.
  3. I don't think people disliked Jane per se but instead mostly disliked her role in earlier movies. The real hook though guys is as simple as... People want to see what Thor is up to after Endgame. It's literally that simple
  4. Holy cow I remember reading Brandon's articles on BOM like 8 years ago or so (not sure exact time). Legend! In any case this fighting over the record is hilarious
  5. I finally watched this (yay!) I really liked the themes explored in this movie, as well as the performances (especially Michelle Yeoh), the creative action sequences and use of Multiversal objects, that was great. What I wasn't really a fan of though was how the movie was kind of just… stupid. And I don't mean by stupid that it was unintellectual, but stupid as in "hey look how dumb this is". I don't know, I just thought the movie didn't successfully strike that delicate balance between serious and not serious that some movies manage to nail. It went a bit overboard on the latter, so much so that the dramatic scenes lost most of their weight to me because of that. It's still a good movie though, mainly because of how just completely batshit insane it is, how creative and fresh it is, and how exciting some of the action sequences are. I just wanna throw it out there but I loved the villain's motivations. Also yay to Multiversal Weapons. B
  6. I think that's good no? Slight Wednesday drop. -28% WTW
  7. This sounds hella exciting, will be there on OW. Really curious to see where the story goes. Christian Bale will ham it up like Cate Blanchett and it's gonna be great even if one-dimensional a bit.
  8. So around $62M for the week-end Still a horrible drop but not a fatal one. Let's see if it stabilizes next week
  9. Same problem in the tunnel chase scene. They turn around and stare at the door stare at the door stare at the door stare at the door my friend and I were cringing like DO SOMETHING
  10. They're being extra careful But there's precedent for a movie below 75% to be certified fresh https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/interstellar_2014 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/cars So yeah, they're covering their bases in advance
  11. Stylistically it was miles ahead of anything Fox ever produced with either of their Dark Phoenix adaptations. Brett Ratner was a studio-mandated, replacement director who has no artistic vision and Simon Kinberg is a hack of a director. X-Men: Dark Phoenix is basically plagiarized work at this point, he borrowed every other shot from other movies. So I guess I would say: I disagree
  12. The meltdowns here if this movie gets banned in China for some arbitrary bullshit reason will be truly incommensurable.
  13. And she was driven mad by grief why? Because she lost her family after creating the hex, why create the hex? Because Vision was killed in Infinity War, so she created the hex to have him again.
  14. Funny, I remember reading lots of critics of the MCU circa AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR release that Marvel movies had no consequences. Literally the only reason why Wanda enslaved thousands of people against their will in WANDAVISION, and now murdered hundreds of people in cold blood and threatened the fabrics of the entire Multiverse... is because of what happened at the end of INFINITY WAR. Specifically, Vision's death. And now because of that we have a heroine turned villain that has resulted in lots of angry fans (the current state of the MarvelStudios subreddit would be a testament to that) But there are no consequences in Marvel movies, apparently!
  15. I totally understand, it's a bit out of left field. I loved it but I can absolutely see how it could piss some people off.
  16. My full review : I loved this movie even if it's a mess. Aside from a few questionable scenes (like the tunnel scene where they just stand around and wait like fucking idiots for no reason), I was thoroughly invested. It's relentlessly entertaining, action packed, and a hell of a ride. I was a bit scared because I didn't 100% trust Sam Raimi to deliver. I was afraid it'd be too much like his Spider-Man movies, while what I wanted was Evil Dead Sam Raimi. And the latter is what we got in terms of style, but with a slight touch of his Spider-Man era, and it worked for me. Pacing was a little too fast (and too much happened off-screen) but damn this movie just flies by and throws everything at the screen. It's basically an adventure-action movie with a few horror elements thrown in that are quite surprising for an MCU PG-13 movie. Definitely pushing the family-friendly rating to its limits. It's a bit wild and tonally inconsistent too but then again, I watch so many Hong Kong movies, "tonal consistency" isn't even in the dictionary for some of those, so I'm used to it. Anyway, as some of you know, I kinda like messy movies when they're ambitious, and this fits the bill to the T. Elizabeth Olsen kills it. I don't know what people or even I were expecting but sending her character on an unhinged, brutal rampage has to be the best decision a Marvel movie took in a long while, at least for me. Absolutely worth it for the cheese and over-the-top villainous performance reminiscent of a by-gone era. So good! Continuity with WandaVision is a bit iffy but nothing that can't be rationally explained. I liked how confident it was in its own self and didn't mind subverting some expectations that will surely leave some viewers who expected something else frustrated. Sam Raimi must have had huge fun making this. The original Evil Dead is still Sam Raimi's best movie overall but I might rank this one his second best. Loved it. This is a great example of what I'm looking for in Superhero movies: grandiose, almost over-the-top character work and superhero-fueled megadrama (this movie is at its core about personal relationships), effects-driven action, relentless adventure, some references, good acting, and some well-placed humor. A
  17. Elizabeth Olsen wants Wanda to be in the X-Men No, you just got me excited! I don't really know what I do next after this movie. I don't really know. I wanna know what fans want and what the ideas are. But I guess you just said it, if we're bringing X-Men back, I'll wanna be there! I have no actual plans yet. I am very excited to talk with Kevin [Feige] about that at some point. https://www.cinemablend.com/interviews/scarlet-witch-and-the-x-men-elizabeth-olsen-shares-her-excitement-for-whats-in-the-marvel-cinematic-universes-future From her various interviews these last few days, even though she does her best to hide it, it's obvious she's coming back edit: another interview : https://collider.com/elizabeth-olsen-marvel-contract-doctor-strange-2-multiverse-of-madness-wanda/
  18. trailer did nothing for me but there's no way in any reality that I'm ever doubting James Cameron so this will be a monster
  19. One of us, one of us! DS2 might be my favorite phase 4 movie too, not 100% sure yet but hey
