  1. people were clamoring for an Inside Out 2? I thought most people were satisfied that the first one was self contained. But since there actually will be an Inside Out 2 I guess that doesn't matter.
  2. this is false btw. Zootopia even to this day gets great ratings for Disney Plus compared to the vast majority of the back catalog. I think Zootopia 2 is long, long overdue though. Also China money is less assured now, with political difficulties.
  3. Actually just thought of a comp. Half of what Ruby Gillman made would be good.
  4. Yeah still looks bad for Soul out there. I would not be surprised if they simply do not report box office numbers.
  5. As an addendum to this, I don't see any evidence that anyone has bought tickets to these movies quite yet, outside of the El Capitan in Hollywood. Don't know what comparisons you can use, if anyone tracked these other re releases. Doesn't seem like they're going to do significant business, even with a Fandango offer for Inside Out 2 tickets.
  6. There is no shortlist for this category. You're just nominated or not.
  7. something interesting about the Pixar re releases. Soul is only at the El Capitan in Hollywood for 1 week Turning Red is at the El Cap for 3 weeks Luca is there for 10 days
  8. @Issac Newton Don't know if you knew about this, but Makoto Shinkai visited Pixar in 2023!
  9. Fandango is doing an offer where you get some free Inside Out 2 tickets if you buy fandango tickets for Soul, Turning Red, and Luca. While I do plan on seeing all these movies I don't know if I will do it via fandango.
  10. I don't know, things take a long time in Hollywood.
  11. could happen but I doubt it. What would apple do with the theme parks?
  12. yeah apple is unfathomably rich. But they still won't do this forever.
  13. I wouldn't count on the spigot of money from Apple to continue forever.
  14. the opening weekend was huge in Japan but the legs were pretty bad.
  15. I think The Boy and the Heron underperformed in Japan because of lack of marketing and because it was just less kid friendly than some of the other Miyazaki work. I think it's doing better in Western markets because awareness of Hayao Miyazaki has expanded throughout the years.
  16. Where will The Boy and the Heron fall? $45 million DOM?
  17. why the hell did I have to solve a puzzle to prove I am human on BOT?
  18. I have a feeling they were done filming it before the strikes.
