The last two of those were both... not very good I thought. Demon isn't much of a horror and Eyes of My Mother is just torture porn in B&W. At least they're distinctive I suppose.
Did you see I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House? It's unsurprisingly divisive but I adored every minute of it. Great take on The Innocents-esque dread-building kind of horror.
Yeah that has me torn. On the one hand I think he's definitely a better director than writer, on the other hand all three of his movies have had enough personality that I would've liked to see him further develop his own voice through writing. Hopefully First Man doesn't suddenly turn him into a Ron Howard type or something.

Where do you get "coupling" from? The movie is already being billed as a "dark" comedy, not a romantic one. From the sound of everything it'll center on Rogen's character's "self-destructive ways" and how deluded his "pursuit" of Theron is.
I've been hearing about this fucking thing since at least 2010 when DOR and Wahlberg were totally going to do it. I don't know whether to laugh or be irrationally angry at the fact that they still haven't put it together.
Depends on how set they are and how willing they are to engage. Age too. I don't think a movie can cause someone to have an instant epiphany but it can get some thoughts going which might develop into something later. I definitely credit some movies and TV shows I saw over the years with helping me get out of my teenage misanthrope phase and making me less judgmental towards people in general.
Diesel really is out of control if that shit is true. I've been enjoying the hell out of these movies but they need to shut that nonsense down if they don't want them to become unbearable.
I remember Into the Wild being pretty myopic. If I were feeling charitable I'd say it's trying to do that Scorsese thing of placing you inside the protagonist's headspace to make you understand how he sees himself, but in the end it just romanticizes him and nothing more. I haven't seen it since 2008 or 2009 though.
