  1. So, it seems that Warcraft might have the BVS effect in China. Huge opening weekend numbers, then it drops like a rock and fails to have a 2x multiplier. If Warcraft manages to get 150 million for its opening and then it ends its run with less than 250 million ( less than Zootopia? damn ), that's a disaster. Is word of mouth good there?
  2. Exactly. Warcraft has a budget higher than a lot of Marvel movies...That's absurd for a movie based on a game. It's actually more expensive than any of the LOTR movies. 100 million-115 million budget should be the top, if it's necessary. Anything more than that, it's laughable.
  3. Wow, according to that article ( deadline ), Warcraft needs to make 450 million worldwide, just to break even...:( Hell, that's way too much. I mean, if domestic grosses are insanely low ( less than 100 million ), the movie will really depend on foreign grosses to get a sequel. China's numbers are dropping there. I know the whole Legendary/Wanda deal in China, but if the producers only keep 50% ( let's imagine movie makes 300 million there, which would give them 150 million ), that's still dangerous. They better slash that high budget for the sequel!
  4. Not bad for X-Men. It has kept a gap of 46 million ( if compared to DOFP ) and that same gap has been kept for a while.
  5. Yeah, boxofficemojo is usually slow in that regard. You can expect overseas grosses to be fully updated for the weekend, though. That's when the numbers are usually updated.
  6. Boxofficemojo updated international grosses for the movies. Good numbers for X-Men, despite its huge competition.
  7. Wow, The Conjuring 2 RT is dropping really hard. It was at 84% some days ago and it's at 68% now. lol
  8. I'm positive that TMNT 2 will have turtle legs, which means bad legs overall!
  9. Wow, depressing drop for TMNT 2. At one point X-Men will beat it's daily gross...
  10. I can say people won't care about Olympic Games here. I know I don't care and I won't care once it gets started. The country is sick, really sick. It's bleeding like crazy, thanks to the corruption, violence and politicians. I live in Rio and it's shocking to see so much money being spent for stuff that will be forgotten in the next months. Our hospitals are broken and lacking money. People are dying because some hospitals are overloaded with more and more people who come from other places ( because these places also lack resources ). We can barely leave with our families, without being afraid of being robbed, attacked and harassed by hobos. The fear is there, and it comes to stay. No sane person would feel good by coming to a country full of diseases ( Zika virus is just a tiny example ). That being said, cinemas are full today. I bought my ticket for Warcraft and hellllllllllllll, what was that? I could barely walk, lol. I can't wait. Unfortunately my kids can't watch it, yet ( they are way too young ) and wife doesn't like movies based on games ( she's biased because she loves Resident Evil, so I called her out of her BS,lol ). So, I'll be going by myself. Hopefully it's good.
  11. So, is X-Men performing well? If so, can it make more than 100 million in China?
  12. I think Warcraft is gonna be the BVS of the game movies. It'll have a huge opening and a huge drop, unfortunately. Its presales got slower, while Apocalypse's had a great bumping ( people thought Apocalypse would flop, but its numbers picked up ). I don't want Warcraft to fail, but I hope it's not victim of it's game hype. It's up to general audiences, I guess. I'll be watching Warcraft soon.
  13. Hopefully X-Men will have X-Legs there. It seems word of mouth is good there, regarding this movie.
  14. hahaha. it's fine. I should have used better words, but I'm glad you understood what i said.
  15. I agree with you. I was just joking about Universal, though I stated facts in that regard.
  16. Universal keeps making more than Avengers. Jurassic World makes more than Avengers, and Minions might make more than Civil War. That being said, Civil War won't be making 1.2 billion worldwide.
