  1. And because of my 5 years old little sister, I've seen it at least a dozen time... in a frame of one week. I've never wanted to have brain bleach so much.
  2. Oh yeah. I actually groaned in annoyance when the part with Hallelujah came. Still think it's a solid B film though.
  3. I'm still very very excited for the Avatar sequels, but the Avatar film hasn't aged well for me. Watching it in theatre is definitely a fucking fantastic experience, but outside it, seven years later... It's still good, but not as mindblowing as the theatre experience. However, I have faith in Cameron to deliver a story worth stretching into 4 films, because he already had an amazing world in his hand that have immeasureable potential.
  4. Oh, I guess it's whatever then. Still hoping this can be an audience pleaser, though. Quality is certainly an issue, but I'm just naturally drawn to all sci-fi originals and root for them
  5. There's a little ray of hope, it seems. Collateral Beauty have a massive disparity between critic and audience score (14% vs 60%). Since the one that actually matters is audience's opinion of the film, obviously that's great for CB. Who knew, maybe something similar can happen with Passengers?
  6. If Cameron is finished with the Avatar sequels (And he's really making 4 of those) before 2020, I think the December spot is locked for space operas until 2023 or so. If not, I can see Marvel experimenting with a December release for their Phase 4.
  7. There's really no relevant comparison for the summer vs holiday debate, imo. The closest thing that we have is Toy Story 3 moving to summer from the previous ones Thanksgiving dates. But TS2 and TS3 is like, 10 years apart.
  8. I think y'all are wrong in the multi discussion. It's not doing doing <3x or 3-3.4x. It's doing >4x
  9. Oomph, with $150m+ OW, the domestic crown might as well be bygones for Dory. Also, with Sing being the only one of the new openers next Wednesday that seemed to be of any worth (Not that I'm gonna skip Passengers :P), Rogue One's legs might be better than expected.
  10. Despicable Me 2 is still the best Ilumination film to date, Sing slightly behind it. Hopefully this can top it, and the trailer looks quite promising.
  11. Underperforming in China as well. Won't even reach 1 billion yuan, according to the posters in Chinese box office thread.
  12. Reading the reviews, I think one of the aspect that got the most criticism is the story itself, especially the supposed "twist". I always think that the script is problematic, and hope that the director can fix it. Apparently not. Hopefully the GA won't really mind, since from what I can take the acting is good enough and the visuals are great. But we'll see, I guess.
  13. Echoing the above sentiment, if they are really that lazy, the least they can do is make Chris and Jen stare at each other in the posters. Like, try to make it actually looks like a romantic film. They can even rip a page out of Titanic and make them hug each other with the spaceship in the background and it will be a much better poster than the one thag we get.
  14. Meh. Nothing will top a certain CBM fanbase meltdown earlier this year. (No matter which one you're thinking about, there's really no wrong answer, imo)
  15. Sad that this pretty much bombed. This is an excellent film. A limited release before slowly expanding would have been a better strategy, imo. Also, PG-13 rating will do wonder for this. It's fucking stupid for a film about puberty to not be able to be watched by well, people undergoing puberty.
  16. Just gotta say, this is a solid film. Fun and entertaining, but I made a mistake by watching Your Name. first before this, since the emotional rollercoaster that is Your Name's third act made this film a lot less impactful
  17. Just as I thought, watching this on a laptop really don't do this justice. All I can say is, after my first cinematic experience, I began to have second thoughts about Zootopia being the best animated film of the year.
  18. Open in the same day as Sing in Indonesia (Today). Already watched it in my laptop, but still looking forward to watching it in big screen.
  19. This is opening in my country tomorrow Will give my review and ranking among this year's animated films once I watched it.
  20. Very interesting. Also, I can already see the Book of Life comparisons coming. Not that I mind, Book of Life is a great film. Shame it never took off.
  21. Welp. That's cool. Will probably see this in opening day Also, just like TF4, this will open one week after a Cars film.... O/U Cars 3?
