  1. Now that you said it, it just prove how fucking dumb it is to open it right before 6 summer potential blockbusters comes to destroy it's theatre counts. (POTC5, WW, Mummy, Cars 3, TF5, and DM3). Holy shit i just realized that May-June this year is fucking crowded. No wonder my wallet is empty.
  2. lmao at alien covfefe taking another 60% drop. it's so damn lucky it got summer weekdays and memorial day in it's second weekend otherwise sub 2x multi would have definitely happened.
  3. yass, I can already see Queen Gadot demanding $50 million dollar for a cameo in The Flash movie. Edit: Also, I'm not sure if I should be confused or impressed that people are having a discussion about Napoleon Bonaparte military prowess in a box office weekend thread
  4. Also, wow that's a great hold for WW! Should be on par with Mockingjay Part 2 at the same point of time by Sunday. That one finish with $280 million with late holiday boost and non summer weekdays. I think $300 million is very much possible.
  5. As long as the general reviews are something along the line of "it's a good Pixar movie" I think $200 million can happen.
  6. Tbh, Frozen's fudge to $400 million is stupid af because if Disney didn't release the DVD/Blu-Ray early, it would get past $400 million easily.
  7. Just under Moana's worldwide total seemed to be where this is heading. #princesspower
  8. As if there's any doubt that Luc wouldn't give his everything for the project that he basically dreamed his entire life doing. That trailer is fucking fantastic, and I swear if my country didn't get this I'm gonna riot.
  9. Did Valerian have a release date? That's the one movie that I'm most anticipating this year, and I swear if it get passed over for some bombing horror movie...
  10. Oops, I forgot to mention The Iron Giant. Yeah, I love that too. I think I cried watching it the first time.
  11. That's actually a very realistic prediction imo. I'm thinking $200 million (A bit of fudging to get there) DOM, $850 milllion WW with China coming in at $280 million (-20% from TF4). Maybe a bit lower, around low 800s/high 700s WW.
  12. People are expecting TF5 to make like $180 million and I don't think I see anyone saying it'll do any better than TF4. Expectations are pretty low, so anything over $150 million are alright for TF5.
  13. Among those, I only have any use for Prince of Egypt, Anastasia, and Princess Mononoke. The rest could've never exist and I won't care tbh (Maybe except the Pokemon movie, that one have a sentimental value for me even though I think it's a terrible film).
  14. Some review for some of the latest anime movie and series I watched: FT: Dragon Cry. Yeah, it's a Fairy Tail movie alright. I'll end it at that. B- A Silent Voice is great and emotional as hell because it struck home a bit too many times, though I feel like the fact it took Ishida dying for half of the cast to actually even begin to try to be, you know, less of a terrible human being (Looking at you, Kawai, Euno) a bit tasteless in the way it kinda glorify death. But overall it's a great film. A- Wolf Children is beautiful. Sweet and very thoughtful. I couldn't really describe what I feel about it, so I'll just give it an A and be done with it. Gintama is crazy fun, and the more dramatic parts are very great too. Shaping up to be my favorite anime because it just hits all the sweet spots for me and then some. A+++ AoT 2nd season is fantastic. The gore-fest never really got old, and the character arcs are developing fantastically. The 12 episode season seemed to be for the better after all. A+ Yuri on Ice is fun. I appreciate that it's unapologetically gay and not just yet another queerbait while never crossing the line. A I'll just give the rest the letter because I don't think anything I could say really means much: Re:Zero A Mob Psycho A SAO: Ordinal Scale B Dragonball Super B+ Yahari ore no Seishun (I couldn't remember it's English name) A- Osomatsu-san A+ I'm currently doing a lot of catching up job because I kinda lost lots of interest during the last three years and only got back recently thanks to Your Name reminding me why I love anime so much in the first place (Another reason why I gave it's turning out to be my #1 film of 2016). Any must sees during that three years other than the obvious ones?
  15. It will be nice if we have something like BOM where every data from the past is neatly stored for future predictions. It would be interesting to see how different films behave in daily grosses.
  16. Gotta admit that out of the 7,3 million admission for F8, I didn't contribute to that total at all. Between big budget blockbusters and supernatural horror films, there is not much variety when it comes to top grossing movies in here. I'm surprised that Danur have enough admission to make the top 5 so far. I don't realize that it's that huge.
  17. If I were you, I wouldn't have tried to inflict so much misery on others by reminding them of those two movies. By the way, watched this and was really let down. Terrible pacing, boring, and the xenomorphs aren't scary at all. Heck, that thing from Life is much more threatening than the xenos are in this movie. 5/10.
  18. Still the most sincere superhero film I've ever seen. Everything about this brought a good feeling to me, and I still remember watching this for the very first time and got enamored in the whole superhero stuff. I think modern superhero films can attribute their success to Spider-Man, on how it's the one that cause a huge wave of interest in comic book superheroes for the new millenia.
  19. Japan had never been big about CBMs, so there's that. Power Rangers will probably do GITS number, around $15 million max.
  20. Lmao, when I said I'm not into Dane and suggest Liam, it's more like, "They already chose a beaut with zero talent for one of the lead, why not choose another one for the other?". So yeah, I'm kinda taking the piss on all of them But I guess if Luc chose them, I can only wait and see if he made the right choice or not.
  21. Right? I have no problem with Cara, but Dane..... Is Liam Hemsworth busy or what? It's not like we need some top level Oscar-worthy performance for this anyway. That aside, if there's one film that I'll defend with my life, it will be this.
  22. Yup. Japan is probably the most animation supporting market in the world, and to some extent, family films. Also, the only form of competition in Japan is the fight for screens, and the rest is up to WOM. There's a reason why during Spring Break we see three animated films dominates and even block Kong from top 3.
