  1. There's no way this is going below $300 million. I can see this coming close to Shrek 2 if this is well received.
  2. $30 million should be possible for this, but $25 million seemed to be more realistic. Did this have OS release?
  3. Well, I didn't hate Sing and want it to never exist, so there's that. Minions is a completely different story though.
  4. Watched GOTG2. It's alright, not as good as I expected, but still entertaining. In other news, next week will see two anime films (Totoro and Silent Voice) coming here and I've already assembled my friends to watch them.
  5. Annabelle 2 will probably gross more than GOTG lmao. I'll never get why our people love horror so much, our local horror films being generally shit not withstanding. In other news, I'm curious about how Raditya Dika's (Basically the Indonesian Adam Sandler, only more tolerable) new movie is doing.
  6. With Avatar out of the way, Han Solo seemed to have a pretty clear way to top 2018 Dom. 1. Han Solo $525 million 2. Jurassic World 2 $480 million 3. Infinity War 1 $470 million 4. Incredibles 2 $450 million 5. Deadpool 2 $350 million 6. Black Panther $320 million 7/8. FB2/Mulan $240 million 9. Gigantic $230 million 10. Ralph Break the Internet $220 million Other possible $200 million grosser: Alita, Ready Player One, Mortal Engines, Animated Spider-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Scooby-Doo.
  7. Disaster and disastrous movies alike, it seemed. Caught Fan4stic last night in local channel... Wow is that thing terrible
  8. It's almost like TFA isn't the highest grossing film of all-time (unadjusted) in UK.
  9. I guess that'll be true with their better films (Sing, and Despicable Me films). The rest range from burn it with fire (Minions) to tolerable (The Lorax)
  10. Illumination will continue to do really well as long as there are still 5-10 years old in this world.
  11. Ditto on Voltron. It's also building up a lot of goodwill from it's fantastic new incarnation.
  12. Fun and overall pretty solid flick. More than what I can say for Godzilla, but that's another matter entirely.
  13. Honestly, anyone expecting this to be more than a ScarJo action film with some pretentiousness thrown in (basically Lucy) is in for a disappointment, and this is coming from someone who loves the source material.
  14. Japan is going to eat this up, like, Japan loves: - Musical - Harry Potter - Fairy tales and Disney had been doing fantastic in Japan lately. $150 million from Japan is happening folks.
  15. .... fuck, I'm actually excited for this.
  16. By the end of this weekend, we'll already have 6 $100 million grosser. Nice.
  17. I'm hoping this can get to $100 million DOM just for the lolz, really. Anything over Fan4tastic will be great.
  18. Please be good please be good please be good. This might be huge in Latin countries.
  19. According to Corpse, Moana is currently tracking for an opening somewhere between Dory and Big Hero 6. Depending on legs, the range seemed to be $45-60 million. Sing will be lucky to hit $15 million, imo.
  20. I think I jizzed a little. I'm so damn ready. Side note, I'm still a bit iffy about Dane as Valerian. Really should've went with one of those young twinks since they have the same acting range anyway.
  21. People are underestimating both Pixar movies big time. Cars 3 is pulling at least $200 million, and unless the marketing is total shit like with TGD, Coco isn't going below $180 million.
  22. This is actually really great. I really need to stop making year end lists before watching all aninated films of the year.
  23. Yay at Moonlight! Well deserved. (Hacksaw Ridge is still my favorite BP nominee tho) Also, kinda feel bad for the La La Land guys.
