  1. If you made a movie more than once a decade, Jim, maybe you'd get your wish. Won't happen though. Avatar is a technical marvel but it hasn't entered and pretty much taken over pop culture the way Marvel has. They aren't going away anytime soon. The audience is enjoying these stories - and the big over arching story - way too much. I'll go see Avatar 2 in a couple years though if it's not, ya know, delayed again.
  2. Where is the trailer?? I remember we got the ANNABELLE: CREATION trailer pretty early on.
  3. I've been getting this feeling for awhile that FK is going to drop even more than we're all anticipating. I don't know why, because I know Jurassic is one of the top franchises on the planet. I'm just not getting the event feel that would coincide with a $180M+ opening. I'm thinking more like $130M-$140M.
  4. I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately so I decided to make it into a club! For the last little while I've had my eye on the Saturday record, which JURASSIC WORLD has been able to hold since June 2015 despite some big openings lately. STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI and BLACK PANTHER both had massive opening weekends but still couldn't nab a bigger Saturday, or even true Friday for that matter, the record for which JW also still holds. Will IW be the movie to finally do it? Will it pass JW and maybe even be the first movie to have a $70M+ Saturday? I personally have been humming and hawing over it. I take JW's record very seriously, as even STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS - the biggest movie of all time! - couldn't do it. However, ima take the plunge here! What say you? IN (IW opening Saturday over $69,644,840) OUT (IW opening Saturday under $69,644,830)
  5. My post from the Infinity War thread... 6. Lol at that number for SGT. STUBBY: AN AMERICAN HERO. That's sad. These animated movies from little known studios (in this case, Fun Academy) always have the worst numbers. Reminds me of RATCHET AND CLANK a couple years ago.
  7. Seeing TRUTH OR DARE on short notice tonight, and seeing RAMPAGE tomorrow night with my movie group. There's my contribution for the weekend of April 13-15.
  8. I'm already really looking forward to this! It'll be an event for me.
  9. I know this doesn't even need to be said, but yeah A QUIET PLACE is going to be huge. My Thursday preview screening at 7:05 was almost 100% full. We're talking from the very front row all the way to the back, with only a few random single seats renaining. This one teen couple actually sat on the stairs lol.
  10. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Claire Foy was awesome and I liked that the scary/creepy element is 2 pronged. There are 2 different scary scenarios here.
  11. Black Panther is going to out-do expectations this weekend. Yes, a movie in its 6th weekend which has already been defying expectations is going to over-perform again.
  12. Did not expect That! @WrathOfHan I guess BP's streak of $2M dailies continues!
  13. Thinking of seeing this tomorrow. Nothing else this weekend interests me.
  14. Yeah, BP's weekdays are pretty much identical to JW at this point, with its weekends being well ahead. Can't see it not beating JW.
  15. BP has been topped on only 2 days: Friday March 9, opening day of AWiT, and Friday March 16, opening day of TR. Truly remarkable!
  16. Lol, that's such a vague consensus. I could have stated about the movie months ago.
