  1. Eff me, all I'm hearing are fantastic reactions to this film. Really wish it was showing somewhere near me. Ah well, guess this is one I'll have to wait for on digital.
  2. I like how this is chugging along here. Can't say it's surprising though. It's a tentpole franchise in a dead month. Still, glad it's doing its job. I'm interested enough in seeing where this sub-franchise goes.
  3. The marketing is on point for this. Everything I'm seeing on social media is getting me so hyped! That shot of adult Richie (Bill Hader) in the abandoned arcade making the rounds right now is great.
  4. I know. What I'm saying is it seemed there was enough interest in Ready or Not already, but now it's going to be even more of a go-to with The Hunt being pulled from theatres. Perhaps I should have said it that way in the first place.
  5. It'll be pretty brutal, but still not as bad as two years ago. Now that was a BAD August. Also, as brutal as it'll be, it won't be as bad as Super Bowl weekend this year, which will be the worst weekend of the year by far (and what is one among the worst in the last several years).
  6. Thanks, and I would agree. It looked like a fun concept before the Hunt drama but now it's looking like a go-to for folks who were looking forward to that one.
  7. Good for Hustlers. At this point, I'm happy for ANY film to overperform, whether I'm personally interested in it or not. We need some more good box office stories beyond Disney juggernauts.
  8. I've been a bit out of the loop lately. Is that a good OD number for Ready or Not?
  9. As usual, I couldn't give a crap about early reactions. I things looks outstanding and my opinion is really the only one I care about. Of course, we'll see how I feel AFTER seeing the film.
  10. I'm really looking forward to this, even more so than Good Boys (and that was worth the anticipation; what a fun film!).
  11. I have no words for what's going on in the Amazon right now. Apocalyptic is right. So, so, so sad and terrible. Humans really will be the architect of their own demise. We're the disease here.
  12. I like the title. We have absolutely zero context for it so may as well not hate on it.
  13. Yeah if this stuff turns out to be true, the execs at Disney are in deep shit and deservedly so. Of all companies, too. A lot of people won't look at Disney the same.
  14. Great idea for a thread. After Hollywood, Indian films are easily the next biggest here in NA.
  15. Boy, between last weekend and this weekend, just a whole slew of single digit openers. Gotta appreciate last August a lot more now.
  16. Good to hear you enjoyed it, especially since you're familiar with the book. I'll eventually check this out for sure.
  17. Saw this yesterday. I don't know, it's not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. I enjoyed the 3 leads as I thought I would - Melissa McCarthy the most - and I was engaged in the concept/story. Nothing earth-shattering, but a solid movie.
  18. That, or the original crew is a bigger sell than we thought, despite the box office rise of the franchise coinciding with the introduction of the Hobbs character.
  19. It was kind of a comeback for him. He's been pretty irrelevant for awhile now. Looking forward to seeing how he does in Ad Astra.
  20. I'm on the right and I say fuck all those people for getting their panties in a knot over this. It's a movie.
  21. After Angry Birds, this looks like the best offering of this coming weekend. I hope it's a hit! Could be a lot of fun for teens before going back to school.
