  1. Yeah I really misjudged this one. I thought it would break out. I guess nobody has seen it yet given there were no Thursday previews. Anyone who sees it tonight should give their personal thoughts. I'll be seeing it Sunday.
  2. I wish this was coming to where I'm currently at (Kamloops, BC) but it won't. I'd really, really like to see this.
  3. @SLAM!, as a fellow conservative, what's your take on Trump?
  4. Haha! Exactly. So true. It's too bad, because otherwise the two actors/characters (Hobbs and Shaw) make a great pair, which is obviously why they did this spin-off. I think it could work if you strengthen the bond between Hobbs and Shaw but the rest of the team sort of kept their distance..? Would at least make some sense, since Han wasn't really a friend of Hobbs.
  5. Yep, Sony's got a good thing going with him. He'll give them a good mid-level hit every handful of years.
  6. I never said I like Trump. I just think TL sounds like just as much of an idiot there. Re: Trump, all I'll say is this: I loathe Trump the person and anyone like him. However, I like Trump's politics (not every single policy, mind you, just his general platform). He's not a globalist and that's refreshing, among other things. I'd take him over our PM in Canada in a heartbeat. He's worse.
  7. Tommy Lee, the one who wrote that garbage post.
  8. $24M+ and a 60% drop coming for H&S.
  9. Sounds rough but I'm glad to hear you're coming along well!
  10. I know it's because you're in Australia but it's nuts for someone in Canada seeing a bunch of snow somewhere in August! Must be how you feel in December/January/February when we have our cold/snowy/miserable winters (at least on the prairies).
  11. Pretty standard. Good thing it's like when The Nut Job 2 got 4000+ theatres in August 2017. That was hilarious.
  12. Steeeeeep drop for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. 60%+ weekend drop coming? Probably.
  13. Yeah, Stuber's drop is going to be legendary! Y'know, maybe grosses for all new openers won't be quite as bad as we all think, due to massive theatre drops for holdovers. Not saying they're all going to be a hit or overperform, but maybe walk-ups for all of them surprise us a bit with people arriving at the theatre and going "Woa, look at all the new movies".
  14. It would, but weirdly enough I'd only be mildly surprised. I've said this before, but it genuinely looks like a fun little flick.
  15. Not surprised to read any of this. The trailer is awesome and hilarious! Plan on catching it for sure.
  16. Yeah it was a very lazy comparison. I guess these kind of movies do not connect with me at all so all I see when I watch the trailers is pretty much the same thing: main character is impacted by popular real musicians in some way. Again, I know, lazy. My bad.
  17. Yet a movie like Unplanned is. LOL! Gotta love the logic of some people (I don't mean you by the way). For the record, I'm not offended by any movie, this one included. I do however think it was the right move by Universal to postpone marketing of the film. These are always tricky situations.
  18. Although it may seem straightforward, I am not well versed in the language of emoticons. Hardly ever use them. I swear I'm an old geezer in the body of a 31 year old. "Emoticons? What are those??"
  19. 61% after 38 reviews: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_art_of_racing_in_the_rain Critics Consensus: "The Art of Racing in the Rain is undeniably predictable and sentimental, but its heartstring-tugging overtures will be difficult for dog lovers to resist".
  20. Seeing this on Sunday. Reviews/box office/audience reception aside, I'm looking forward to it. It looks fun and I have to say it again: love the main trio of actresses!
  21. I've been meaning to watch that. I heard it was fantastic! What are your thoughts (beyond the fact you obviously loved it)?
  22. Ah. Would explain why I was completely unaware. I don't venture over to reddit. Hell I'm not on social media anymore! What a breath of fresh air! One disturbing thing I have become aware of though is multiple people mentioning something about pedophile symbols on the movie poster. The only reason I'm not completely disregarding it is it just so happens I recently learned about the big, horrible secret in Hollywood right now: rampant pedophilia! I was led to the topic after watching a video on Youtube about the circumstances around Heath Ledger's death. I was so disturbed and emotional that night I couldn't sleep.
