  1. I like the Ant-Man franchise but I would have thought Ant-Man 3 would have been a low priority compared to a Captain Marvel 2 or GOTG Vol 3. Considering Feige didn't even mention Ant-Man 3 at SDCC I still don't think it's coming until 2023 the earliest.
  2. In a weird way I'm glad the film didn't really show much of Phoenix as the actual Joker. I really enjoyed the transformation but his actual Joker isn't as threatening or as clever as someone like Heath Ledger's. Not saying the performance is bad or the character wasn't given due but yeah feel like any decent Batman would take out this guy easily. Not that's the point of the film of course (or is it?)
  3. I get what Scorsese is saying but what are Marvel supposed to do. Stop releasing more than one film a year?
  4. Not surprised by Australia anecdotally everyone I know is talking about the film and 2nd Weekend when I saw cinema was still very packed on a Sunday Night
  5. Has a good release date in August.....but with Joker's success a move to October wouldn't be a bad idea too.
  6. The OS insaness makes the DOM performance seem tame by comparison. After seeing the film I get it though as it may not have much action but it still 100% fully engaging that is easier to digest than other dramas. Plus I think it shows specifically how big the Batman brand is. Wonder if it'll translate to how big Batman performs in 2021.
  7. Yeah not sure how Paramount is gonna turn around the ship unfortunately. Pretty much all their franchises are in limbo other than Mission Impossible which will probably finish with 8. Their animation studio lags behind all the other major ones. Tough road for them ahead.
  8. Will Smith needs to go back to more action comedies as opposed to serious films. Or he could just stick to Aladdin sequels. With how amazing Joker is performing I wonder if it reevaluates how I think Batman in 2021 will perform.
  9. Looks weirder than I thought it would be which is pretty good. Don't think it'll be quite a break out hit but should be a solid film. Around Monster Uni levels of grosses is my guess (not cause of the same director mind you).
  10. If you're complaining about Charlie,'s attitude idk how you survived when a certain other numbers provider was around. Anyhow Joker amazing numbers yet again. Just shows audiences are gonna see any type of film as long as it's a comic book film no matter the tone or subject matter.
  11. Captain Marvel's DOM numbers is a good target for WW84 with a slightly higher overall DOM total.
  12. CS you can only judge in relation to other similar films. If this was a normal PG-13 superhero film then B+ would be concerning. But this ain't that so considering the subject matter B+ is pretty good all things considered.
  13. Can we not go through the whole "test screening" nonsense that we went through with Wonder Woman?
  14. Amazing numbers for Joker particularly OS where I wasn't sure if the appeal was quite there but clearly I was wrong. WB/DC have to be thinking about opening up their other characters to get the "Elseworlds" treatment.
  15. "We had an event called D-23 and Tom [Holland] was there because he's a voice in a new Pixar movie called Onward. He said something and it was clear that the fans wanted Tom back as Spiderman," Iger explained to the late-night host when asked how the actor proved to be the unsung hero. Iger continued to explain that after Disney's D23 Expo, Holland asked for Iger's phone number and email to which Iger agreed to speak with him, which changed his perspective. "It was clear that he cared so much. He's a great Spider-Man. I felt for him and it was clear that the fans wanted all of this to happen." Iger said that after speaking with Holland, he "made a couple of phone calls" before ultimately calling the head of Sony. "He called me and I called them," Iger said, also adding that "sometimes companies, when they are negotiating, they forget that there are other folks out there that actually matter." https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/bob-iger-dishes-tom-hollands-spider-man-return-new-memoir-1245393
  16. I hope it's more in the Winter Soldier style which again hopefully speaks to this film as being as grounded as Winter Soldier was (for an MCU film).
  17. Might check out Abominable since I have nothing better to do tbh but sad that a DreamWorks movie opening this low isn't really a surprise anymore.
