Lol let's wait until OW numbers before we announce the death of the franchise.
I also seriously doubt Kathy gets replaced my guess is once her contract runs out in 2021 she'll leave.
It kinda does though when Star Wars is supposed to be one of their main pillars of the movie division (well Lucasfilm is but they're only making Star Wars films atm). Star Wars is taking a break theatrically too so this film needs to show strength in the brand. A sizable decrease from TLJ doesn't bode well for Disney's plans for future Star Wars films.
All hail Nolan
And yeah his premises sometimes sounds confusing but Nolan makes them easily accessible to the GA. It's why he's a brand now. I want him to do big budget original films as long as he had the clout to do so.
If Inception could do $800M WW back in 2010 no reason for Tenet to do around $700M WW though of course hoping for more. Just exciting to see a director in full command of an original film with a budget akin to a massive tentpole film.
If anyone deserves it it's Nolan.
Dunno I still find it weird this is a Pixar film and not say a Disney Animation Film or a Dreamworks film. Still looks good and I'm sure comedic and emotional elements with the dad will work.
I'm not really bothered by no overarching narrative atm though I would prefer maybe some more reoccurring characters but that's just me. Nice to see a tiny glimpse of the New Republic too those droids look pretty cool (and far more competent than the Separatist Battle Droids). The show is basically a live action version of a Star Wars saturday morning cartoon.
Wasn't the reason Wonder Woman legged out so well was cause it attracted an older female demo that usually wouldn't go to these type of movies? I imagine they would't be all that active on social media.
Hot damn Watchmen was amazing yet again. Between that and Mr Robot Season 4 Monday Nights have easily become my favourite night of the week to watch tv.
Ah well maybe can wait until Frozen 3 for an animated film (barring TLK which btw hate having to write this everytime from now on) to hit $1 Billion OS.
Btw how great it is to have 4 female led superhero films next year in Birds of Prey, Black Widow, WW84 and Eternals (forgive me if I missed any). All directed by female directors too.
1. Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker
2. Raya and The Last Dragon
3. The Eternals
4. Tenet
5. Soul
6. Black Widow
7. Mulan
8. No Time to Die
9. 1917
10. Little Women
