That's more to do with the quality of the films being released there than anything. You put a film people want to actually see on that date like WW84 or Aquaman 2 it'll do well.
The November date before Thanksgiving Weekend is a great date. Catching Fire opened to $158M and expect Frozen 2 to have a $150M+ OW. More to do with WB's continued struggles with their major franchises than any release dates.
I think it's definitely a prequel but it will set up some stuff for the future so it won't be totally inconsequential plotwise (besides of course finally giving Nat some time to shine).
Ok that was super cute and wonderful. Pixar teasers usually don't do it for me since they are usually footage that is not even in the movie or its aimed squarely at kids but not this one. Hopefully the world building is comparable to what Disney did with Zootopia.
Goddamn ok I've never been on the Toy Story 4 under $400M train but didn't expect this. Just shows how ingrained Toy Story is for an entire generation of people.
1. The Jungle Book
2. Cinderella
3. Christopher Robin
4 .Aladdin
5. Dumbo
6. BaTB
7. Alice in Wonderland
8. Maleficent
I didn't include Mary Poppins Returns since that's a sequel but I thought it was pretty boring and much worse than the first. I really only enjoy the first 4 on that list.
WDAS have literally only done two sequels this decade. Hardly comparable to the sequel craze Pixar has been on. And merging the two is silly when they are two completely different studios with now two completely different leaderships and if you read about it difference in culture too.
True but that is well idk about spoilers but let's just say FFH is carrying the story directly after Endgame while this one for now seems to be a prequel which inherently limits the investment. Captain Marvel got over this by Infinity War teasing her as being an important part of Endgame.
As one of the biggest MCU stans yeah gonna be really shocked if this is even Top 3 of 2020. I'll be expecting a Winter Soldier type gross and be over the moon with Ragnarok type numbers and beyond
