The Netflix cartoon gave Rouge a more modest outfit and basically made her bust invisible, so it’s not like there hasn’t been precedent for it.
I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if these movies don’t bother with Rouge altogether, though. If she’s not in the movie that’s adapting Sonic Adventure 2, I’m not sure where else they could introduce her.
It seems Tim Burton’s style in general still resonates with a lot of people, especially now that he’s found a new talent in Jenna Ortega. I believe I’ve said before that I never really cared for his work, or his whole “misunderstood weirdo” shtick, but there’s clearly an audience for it.
By my math, the Tomatometer score is at 76% right now. Not sure what the point is in hiding it. I seriously doubt that’s going to hurt this movie’s apparent momentum.
Kinda weird to think that apart from Longclaw in the first movie, there haven’t been any female animal characters in any of these. Maybe Amy will be in the credits scene or something.
This movie’s legs seem fairy typical compared for a $200 million opener. I know that’s not exactly a large sample size, but they don’t seem that insane to me.
A nostalgia bait Beetlejuice movie doing great in 2024 sounds a little disheartening to me, especially after Deadpool, and to a lesser extent, the new Alien, did as well as they did. I guess nostalgia is here to stay.
Coppola’s quote isn’t quite as bad as the headline makes it sound, but I think we should ban creatives from using words like “woke” or “canceled” at this point.
Actually, the longest thread for a single movie is the BvS one. As for why this thread has so few pages, that’s because the bulk of the Avatar discussions on these forums were on the Avatar 2 thread.
Yup. I’d say Sonic is different enough from Mufasa to work as counter-programming, especially since theres no Illumination or Dreamworks film coming out this December.
DanielRPK is pretty hit or miss, but assuming he’s right, it would mean the trailer would play in front of Beetlejuice, which does sound like a better choice than If. It’s also pretty much the exact same window that NWH had between its first trailer and its release.
