  1. I’m admittedly not a big anime watcher, but the animation here definitely doesn’t look up to par with Studio Ghibli. It looks closer to a Netflix anime, which is fine for television, but for a cinematic release, it comes off as underwhelming.
  2. That animation definitely does not look like something worthy of a theatrical release. This looks like it easily could’ve been a Max release. Also, beginning the trailer with footage from the Peter Jackson movies seems pathetically desperate. It’s not only nostalgia bait, but the way it’s presented almost makes it seem like a fake-out.
  3. My only explanation is that they were deliberately trying to stoke controversy to get people’s attention. “No such thing as bad publicity” and all that jazz.
  4. Star Wars was never “only” six movies, though. It was always a huge juggernaut of a franchise with a massive expanded universe and a ridiculous amount of merchandise, even under George Lucas.
  5. Clearly, he’s saying that Deadpool 3 not releasing in December is a modern day Hindenburg Disaster.
  6. I still say November 2025 would’ve been an optimal time to release Spider-Man 4, but for whatever reason, Marvel and Sony have been stalling with it, so it’s anyone’s guess when it comes out. I guess December 2026 could work, given that Disney “only” has three Marvel movies scheduled for that year, and July already has Shrek, the Moana remake and possibly the next Christopher Nolan movie. Of course, scheduling it there would mean that the Rey Star Wars movie would have to move, assuming it even gets made, and it would also be bad news for Dune: Messiah, or whatever movie Denis Villeneuve has scheduled for that date.
  7. It seems like a no-brainer that this‘ll have a more female-skewing audience than the first one, although CBM’s in general tend to be more male-skewing, apart from the first Wonder Woman movie, so who knows how different this’ll be in that regard.
  8. Now that we’re several weeks in, I’ll say this; in terms of being a (to be absolutely blunt) emotionally manipulative nostalgic fanservice fest, I was more taken in by NWH than I was by this. Admittedly, that’s probably more a consequence of the fact that NWH did it first, so D&W would obviously seem less novel as a result. Of course, NWH is also a movie that I and many other people would argue doesn’t really hold up great once you get past the initial rush, so I have no clue if D&W well fare better in that regard. One thing I do know is that I don’t find Deadpool’s hyper-meta Reddit style humor to be nearly as funny or novel as it was in 2016, so I can’t say I was laughing my ass off when I watched this, but the crowd I was with definitely loved it.
  9. Yeah, I read that after I made the initial comment. Anyway, looks like we now have our answer for why he was fired.
  10. So the highest grossing G, PG, PG-13, and R-rated movies officially all belong to Disney. That’s kinda scary to think about…
  11. Whatever DeMayo did, I’m guessing that Marvel/Disney is trying to keep it under wraps as much as possible because he’s still credited for season two of the show, and they don’t want it to be overshadowed by that.
  12. I wouldn’t be surprised if Feige considers Hugh Jackman irreplaceable, the same way he seems to consider actors like Willem Dafoe and J.K. Simmons to be irreplaceable. Edit: Then again, BNW is supposed to introduce Adamantium to the MCU, so who knows?
  13. Leaving the holiday spot would be pretty stupid if you ask me. I seriously doubt Sonic the Hedgehog is the kind of movie franchise that’s begging to be seen in IMAX anyway.
  14. I’m officially at the point where I’m questioning the lack of a trailer.
  15. Yeah, that definitely wouldn’t work in live action, especially without Patrick Warburton as Kronk.
  16. Is there any other 2000s Disney animated movie that would even be worth doing a cynical nostalgic remake for? The only potential one I can think of is Princess and the Frog, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney steers clear of that out of fear of backlash.
  17. The press tour with Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot is gonna be awkward, isn’t it?
  18. TWoW was basically a reintroduction to the world of Pandora, but now that we got that out of the way, it’s time to up the ante.
  19. In the case of Gal Gadot, I do understand disliking her on the count of her views, but it’s weird to me how people are saying that the two seconds we heard of her in the teaser is further evidence of what a terrible actress she is. A lot of them even straight up seem to be mocking her accent.
  20. He specifically said Oscorp doesn’t exist in that universe, and I don’t recall him suggesting that he met an alternate version of his son. Anyway, Kevin Feige made it clear that they had no intention of using villains from past Spider-Man movies before they decided on the multiverse angle. Feige seems to consider actors like Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina to be the definitive versions of their respective characters.
  21. Quite the dichotomy between YouTube and Twitter in terms of what they consider the worst thing about this. YouTube says it’s Rachel Zegler and Twitter says it’s Gal Gadot. They can’t please anyone, can they?
