I don't think Marvel is fucked as long as they don't fuck up the Avengers movies. The first Avengers did amazing eventhough the only universally praised hit they had before was the first Iron Man. Although I guess, an Avengers 5 will miss the novelty factor that the first one had so people won't care much about the characters meeting each other. -
You gotta ask the people who actually saw the film.

People here are saying that the franchise feels purposeless because it's building up to nothing right now, but I think it feels purposeless because of the opposite. They are building up to too many things. There are way too many ongoing threads that it's impossible to make sense of any of it.

Because the movie had bad legs and mainly did as good as it did because audiences were bamboozled into thinking it would be an event multiverse film like No Way Home. The sequel will probably drop.

I missed half of my last year of high school (including graduation) and first year of college because of covid (probably the two most important years for most kids/teens) but I'm not using it as excuse to be an asshole. All these kids just sound insufferable (to be fair, I feel that way about most people my age and slightly younger).

Gonna say Barbie gonna be closer to Dune in terms of they got here than Dora or Cats. Relatively popular IP, same distributor, critically acclaimed populist director with a fanbase, and a stacked cast. All the twitter chatter honestly just takes me back to when Dune started trending on twitter top 10 because of a bunch of character posters (something I've seen almost never happen).

WB should switch this and Wonka around. December is crowded with family films and WB is also releasing another musical then (like literally 5 days after Wonka). Star Wars is probably not happening, positioning this as the perfect alternative.

What do you mean by hate? Roxana just said Waititi's upcoming movie is as bad as his previous one. She's not making daily threads about how she hates the movie, if thats what you mean by hate. I don't think anyone is.

I mean if the character adheres to the genocide of a race, yeah I think that's bad. And even if he was a "good German", I still think it's not exactly the best thing to include that in a film marketed as a "anti-hate satire" that is relevant to modern society. Essentially can be taken as, one of these guys trying to end your whole race can actually be a good guy. You don't have to agree with it and I'm not trying to change you mind. Just telling you why some people thought it was bad.

The only harmful movies that ever existed are films like Birth of a Nation and Leni Riefensthal films. You don't think it's funny people are hating on harmless movies like The Emoji Movie too? This movie is harmless too but a bunch of people think it's bad. Funny, no?

Idk, I can see why people thought a movie about the persecution of Jews containing a sympathetic, "good" Nazi and ending with a feel-good dance was bad.
