Just booked tix for Nope at the 1.43 IMAX screen for this. Already planning my summer next year so that I can watch the actual movie in the same screen.
Was hoping this would happen. Would be great if something from July takes this spot. Really want Marvels to but Indy 5 releasing a week before means it can't.
Check the HBO Max thread. Insane show. Now trying to get my friends to watch this show (who are always skeptical of my recommendations eventhough they always like what I recommend).
Ms Marvel is not close to its best reviewed thing. Before you tout that 98% on RT around, TV shows are rated differently than movies and it much, much easier to get above 90%. Also the Emmy nods were all below the line nods which they were certain to get due to being big budget genre shows. It's like getting nominated for VFX at the Oscar's.
I've at least liked practically everything Resident Evil (the games, the Anderson movies, the new reboot movie). This might geniunely be the first RE thing I hate.
I feel like this is going to be like the opposite of the last couple Disney Marvel movies. Most bits of pre-release news for those movies sounded good and they ended up worse than expected while I feel like it's going to be the other way round for this. Seems to easily have the most troubled production out of any of these films since like AoU rn, but I feel like Coogler delivers a hit honestly.
But before AT&T stopped reporting it, we know most people didn't activate their HBO Max accounts. This is just off topic at this point and doesnt change my point.
Eternals is like 27th movie in a super huge and established franchise lol. Also FB3 did like 800 mil on a service with like half the subs as D+. I guess it should get a sequel because of its good streaming numbers. Probably some people on twitter making Newt fancams or something too.
And you can't assume what the script was like before she came on board. All I know is that she did did two rewrites of the script and got not one but two different credits for writing it meaning she deserves blame for it being bad. Also I'd love to see how you can show that most people liked the directing. Like that's an insanely hard distinction to make.
This just feels like a shitton of copium lol. Social media doesn't mean shit and FB 3 also produced big numbers on streaming, it's not getting a sequel is it? Also Zhao did two rewrites of the first draft. She didn't just "change some things".
This would've been better than the original and would've given an amazing Asian action director the ability to direct on a Hollywood budget. Zaslav made the shitty decision here.
The people who saved the lives of millions work in a completely different industry from the people who work in VFX. This is like saying someone shouldn't get depressed from going through a break-up because they never experienced something as awful as the holocaust.
