If a cinema near you is showing it, watch Benediction. Otherwise gonna recommend an Indian film, Kannathil Muthumital, just because I want more people to watch this and cry as much as I did watching it. Bridges of Madison County a pretty good choice if that film doesn't interest you tho.

It's a given that show marketed as the "first Muslim superhero show" will attract Muslims (who are usually not white) and maybe other minority races. But the difference in race demo percentages from the usual Marvel show is likely in the single digits. A large percentage of Asian, Black, and Hispanic people that showed up for something like Loki likely didn't show up for this too. There's no reason for stupid generalized comments like this: where no critical thinking seems to be involved and is just trying to create more division. It's also just more bait for the bigots too.

Why are so many dumbfucks turning this show into a culture war? Not just the bigots, but also the idiots making the lack of interest in this show seem like a race issue (which it isn't).

The formula for SW shows post-Season 1 Mando seems to be to make mostly underwhelming shows with a but insert a crap ton of fan-service just in the last two episodes so that people forget all the problems they previously had.

I think Nope being both a Universal film and being shot in 70MM IMAX puts it in a really unique position here and makes it the perfect movie for Universal and Nolan to show something off. Would not be surprised if IMAX is begging for them to show something in front of Nope too.

Dune is remembered pretty well, so was Encanto, Luca, and Godzilla vs Kong. I'm pretty sure The Batman and EEAO will be remembered more than most movies releasing this year even with a shorter than usual theatrical window. It literally doesn't matter as long as people think the movie is good.

Actually Top Gun 2 was great because Ehren Krueger wrote it.

Great movie

Lost a nearby indie theater and it's loss feels massive. Crimes of the Future would be playing here (3 blocks away from where I live) for over a month but right now the nearest theater still showing it is almost 10 miles away and it's the biggest cinema here in the Bay area. At least I get to watch Benediction this weekend I guess.

Now that my TG2 rating went down, this is back to being movie of the summer contender.

Difference is that people are more aware of the Disney brand. Soul, Raya and Turning Red going to streaming (and most people catching Encanto on streaming) means that people will think that the next WDAS/Pixar film be on streaming. Dune going to streaming doesn't mean that they will think The Batman is going straight to streaming. Most people won't even be aware the same studio distrubuted both.
