The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo
Menor the Destroyer replied to grim22's topic in Numbers and Data
Dune MTC2 Thursday: Showtimes: 1128 Seats Sold: 17537/190081 Gross: 246639 Friday: Showtimes: 2110 Seats Sold: 20039/371967 Gross: 264491 Thursday is somewhat close to Bond at the same point. Friday is well below (around 80%). Eternals MTC2 Thursday: Showtimes: 1967 Seats Sold: 21050/320645 Added around 2300 in the past 2.5 days. Slowish pace but not a big deal this far out (it has kept around 70% of BW's pace consistently). First big test will be the reactions bump and how well it can keep that. Will post Fri tomorrow. -

Beautiful. -
I like this aspect about the trailer actually. It makes Gotham feel like its own world with many villains that are just a part of the setting. I'm sure the Riddler will be the main star of the villains with the others just playing roles in the plot. I don't see Catwoman being an issue in overstuffing since she won't really be a villain anyway.

Well the reactions are tomorrow night, so they won't help until Tuesday. I could see the world premiere having some effect on night sales but that won't matter for Denver since Inception posts these in the afternoon. -
I said this in Bond's weekend but let's wait a couple of years before assessing whether anything has permanently changed. I definitely think younger people were always going to be much quicker to come back regularly. Also, I think a lot of the mid-budget fare this year just hasn't looked that appealing compared to what we got in 2019. Just speaking for myself there haven't been any of those trailers that hooked me like Ford v Ferrari or 1917.

I wouldn't go as far as some on here, but that was a damn good trailer. Feels like Gotham is being captured here in a way that I never felt like it was in previous Batman movies. This is coming from a place of the teaser not having done much for me. I wasn't expecting too much and was really impressed by this trailer.

I am traveling. Will update when I am home (tomorrow). I did take a run yesterday but forgot to post with Halloween taking up attention. It was 18720 for Thu and 12238 for Fri, so Thu is running about 70% of BW like the first day, and Fri is running about even with BW. As far as the final week discussion in this thread, BW's final week was not as bad as NTTD but the bumps and walkup trends were a lot worse than SC. I would expect Eternals to do closer to the latter since they are new characters, but we'll see. -

Looking at the ratios a bit more, Bond had 5.8 million between the 2 MTC, Halloween has probably ~6.5 million (with the vast majority of that advantage from MTC2). I don't know if MTC3 would be stronger for Bond or Halloween but with Bond getting 17m true Friday, I could see 18 for Halloween if MTC3 can cancel out Canada. Edit: nailed it at the last minute, lmao. -

HK was at 234747/691732, 2739177. Will probably hit 240-250k final. I guess 15m Friday, haven't looked too closely at the ratios.
