The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Eternals nearly matched SC 25 hour number (8537 vs 8763) in my MTC2 run that finished half an hour ago, by now it will be well higher. -

Nothing at all, lol. It was kinda strange though seeing people take random shots at SW across several threads. -

Excellent. SC was at a similar point in its first 24 hours, really impressive to match that in less than 4. This has 7 days more of PS than that one as well. -

Eternals MTC2 Thursday: Showtimes: 1916 Seats Sold: 5985/313571 Shang-Chi at the same time: Showtimes: 2041 Seats Sold: 3756/322892 Excellent start. It's even better considering both Eternals and Shang-Chi probably had around 1000 blocked seats, so the true ticket sales would be about 5000 vs 2700. -

Eternals on sale now. Weirdly, no TV spot/clip to go with it, or maybe Marvel is late with the tweet. -

Uh...if you think Bond is beating Spider-Man then go all the way and make a club, because that is one hell of a claim. -

There are actually a few MTC2 with IMAX, I found out today. Most don't though. -

Well, blockbusters other than Shang-Chi were in the summer. In the summer weekend drops will be worse and weekdays better. -

Eh...even with being hit by a mid-50s opener, 65ish% drop isn't that great, even if it is better than the weekdays might have suggested. -
No Time to Die (2021)
Menor the Destroyer replied to Eric Quinn's topic in Review That Movie! (Spoilers Allowed)
Quite an enjoyable film until the ending, which leans too heavily on melodrama with Madeleine. Not a fan of the way Bond's death was handled. Still, Ana de Armas was great, I liked Lynch as well, and of course Craig owns the role as always. Villain was mediocre and his reasoning and plan seemed like they were either cut or nobody bothered to write a character beyond the bare backstory. B -
I was really on board with this up until Bond goes back to Madeleine, then the cracks start showing a bit. Their relationship as other posters have said is just not convincing and Bond has better chemistry with almost every other female character in any of the Craig films. The ending felt way too melodramatic and forced, if you're gonna kill Bond then make it count, the situation here was no worse than stuff he has beaten time after time. Still, a fun time at the movies.
