  1. Yeah, I guess he could have been promoted to admiral at that point (he was a captain in Rebels, if I remember right). Though I really hope the Empire has a minimal role in this series. I would rather see a lot of the Chiss and the world of the Unknown Regions.
  2. Only us nerds care about what a movie does on its first day of presales, unless it ends up crashing servers (which was never in the cards for this movie). It all adds up to the same thing anyway.
  3. What I'm saying is that beating BvS in presales doesn't mean that much in 2022, this movie has always been expected to open well north of 100. On that note, I don't know why anyone who uses this site would give a damn what Scott Mendelson predicts.
  4. They are putting hobbit ancestors in this? That seems...weird. If there is a story reason for it it's fine but "we can't do Middle-Earth without hobbits" kinda makes me worried about the mindset. But I'm probably just paranoid about adaptations.
  5. It looks cool. As I've said before I don't even care how they justify the dinos in real world thing, it's cool enough that I'm sold already.
  6. I think Favreau takes some blame here as well considering how disjointed and out of whack the story of this series has been.
  7. Disappointing. Overall it had some entertaining bits to not be as bad as Episodes 1 and 3 by Rodriguez but still such a step down from the previous two episodes. The same issues with poor action and visuals, and the script wasn't much good either.
  8. Because the DCEU is not popular. If the DCEU was going strong then Batman interacting with it would only benefit the box office. Like imagine if we were coming off smash hit Superman and a really beloved Justice League, this exact same Batman movie, with maybe a couple of references to said films, would be doing even bigger numbers I think. The fact that it still is going to do very well is just because Batman is a very popular character with a high floor, and probably because it feels distinct from the Affleck incarnation (moreso than Holland's felt from Garfield's).
  9. Batman interacting with other DC characters is fun. Has been done very well in animated format, no reason why it can't happen in live action. The problem is just that BvS and JL weren't very good movies.
  10. I still think this is staying theatrical. With what Encanto did, I see that as only helping the case, showing that a movie can be a smash hit on streaming and still make some money from the box office.
  11. NWH initial sets were way too low at least in some places. In MTC2 they started barely higher than BW, then quickly almost doubled when they realized the demand.
  12. It was good because of the plot but the direction was very weak and made it much worse than it otherwise could have been. The action looked very wacky.
  13. Before the sequels were ever released ROTS regularly got large percentages of votes in favorite SW film polls and had solid ratings on most rating sites. It's reputation has improved since but it was never really a disliked film.
  14. Matrix had a Thursday release day with midnights. Spider-Man 2 had a Wed release with midnights. The OD comparison is apples to apples.
  15. I guess in terms of the super hyped films of that 2000-2005 period, if everything was normalized to 3-day weekends, Reloaded would probably only have lost to Revenge of the Sith and Spider-Man 2. That's a lot more impressive than I had originally thought.
  16. I guess if we arbitrarily restrict to 16-30 age group, I can see where that claim about Reloaded comes from.
  17. Weird comparison considering there were more hyped films than Reloaded in between.
