From Corpse:
I think Friday and Saturday will be reasonably close, but I'm not confident on Sunday. I'm sure it'll benefit from spillover, but some of the spillover could certainly go to the weekdays (and beyond) as we enter the holiday season. On the other hand, some of the spillover could simply be from those wanting to see it specifically over the weekend, and the buzz it's generated could boost it a little with casuals/families. People are saying it's suppose to turn colder into/after Sunday, too, so that could focus some more business to the weekend (and Sunday). I'm going to be a tad liberal with the Sunday estimate and see what happens.Jujutsu Kaisen 0 - Weekend Prediction:
Friday: ¥1.05 billion ($9.2 million) / 750,000
Saturday: ¥900 million ($7.9 million) / 650,000
Sunday: ¥800 million ($6.8 million) / 575,000
Opening Weekend: ¥1.70 billion ($14.7 million) / 1,225,000
3-Day Opening: ¥2.75 billion ($23.9 million) / 1,975,000
If this Friday happens, it'll only be the second film in history to achieve an OD above ¥1 billion. I'm really hoping the Friday admissions can get to 800,000, as it'd also only be the second film in history to sell 800,000+ admissions in a day, but that's going to be tough and I don't want to over-predict that.
And if this 3-Day Opening happens, it will far and away be the second highest 3-Day Opening in history.
So, let's see what happens! I'll be tracking it over the weekend versus every other big or notable opening since 2015 (if you've been here for at least a year, you'll recognize the charts).
