similar situation with my dad but I already told him about it a year ago, otherwise hed probably stumble upon it on the newspaper repeated variations of "Cameron, hes good at this" multiple times during the trailer

doing it 4 times might not be that hard (assuming avatar 2 does it) exchange rates could improve radically by the time avatar 3 comes around, china might be at 100%, theaters would be better prepared to handle 3D and covid could end end

could simply be theaters that dont have 3d equipment deciding it might be a better bet to go all in on the adult dramas and puss in boots while those that can do 3d hog up all of the avatar tickets

any way to know how many of those locations are 3d capable? or include plf's? how long does it take to convert a 2d screen to 3d if you dont have the equipment? do we assume that if a theater doesnt have 3d on ow they wont have it for the rest of the run?

meh a best picture was always guaranteed the only thing this proves is that it might be below TGM in the pecking order, which might not be the greatest of signs but could also mean it hasnt been screened enough

starting to believe avatar can win the 2022-only gross as well, but im still not 100% in, bit like 75% its first real competition is titanic on feb 10 if cameron tries to steal plf's from himself, if not ant man the week after

not trying to predict anything, just wanting to have it as a refenrence for future avatar sequels if exactly 50% of the likely ow audience insisted on watching avatar 5 on PLF's, whats the largest possible weekend avatar 5 could have? how many millions can imax and dolby bring during a weekend? (assuming 2022 conditions)

wonder if HFR could make an A+ impossible (assuming the movie deserves it), one out of ten people comment on being annoyed by it
