  1. I know, but shockingly rocknrollaDIM found the post and quoted it in the Best Picture forums.
  2. Well you seem comfortable with that stance so all is good.
  3. Now that I get in for free (got to love having friends that work at a theater), nothing really. But before that, I would say I used to spend around $20 on average.
  4. I almost always stay for the credits. Those people had a lot to do with the making of the movie so I don't mind sticking around to check out the names. Plus, it does make sure I don't miss any post credit stuff.
  5. Darn it!! Who told them?!? They just lost my business for now.
  6. I believe it was from Edward's point of view.
  7. Not many, but a couple I think of offhand are the original V and Pushing Daisies.
  8. My uncle refuses to see this movie due to the opening scenes since he is a veteran. He knows it is too real and knows it may affect him. I would say that is an endorsement of how well made this movie is. Great performances by everyone. The title also really applies to both parts of the story. Great message at the end as well. A
  9. I can't think of a specific movie since my mom always had cable tv. But taking an educated guess, I would say Star Wars
  10. 1. Inglourious Basterds2. The Hangover3. Up4. Avatar5. Sherlock Holmes6. Coraline7. The Hurt Locker8. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
  11. My parents weren't strict at all. One of my earliest movie experiences was a a drive in with Star Wars as the first feature and Psycho as the second. Maybe they thought I would be asleep
  12. Even though it would help growing up with the movie, it doesn't diminish the greatness of the film. I had E.T. t-shirts, memorabilia, board games, Atari games, Halloween costume, so it is easily said that I was into the movie. I was 7 at the time I saw the movie so the fact that I didn't know what the alien looked like yet had me "nervous". Obviously that changed pretty quickly. There are many reasons that this was the top grossing movie of all time for such a long period. The movie is emotional and funny. It follows a kid who is basically alone and wanting for a "real home" since his dad passed away. He finds what he needs by finding a being that is having the same issues as E.T. "lost" his family by being left behind. It really is a story of growing up. Henry Thomas did win and was nominated for awards for his performance. For instance, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best New Male Star. Drew Barrymore was also great in the film as you could tell she really though E.T. was real. Plus how can anyone not enjoy some Reese's Pieces. Easily an A+

  16. yeah that's about right. I have a few that are at least 2 gbs a piece too. Maybe some point this year I will get a new laptop anyway so I can save the other movies, but I have to make sure I don't mess up with the syncing so it erases all the other stuff and I have to do it twice. I know there is a way to avoid that, but I never had to worry about it before.
  17. Yeah I lost some too. Plus now my computer is out of memory so I can't download them anyway because I have no more room. Unless I get another hard drive but don't feel like spending the money on another hard drive just so I can watch a movie on the small screen on my ipod
  18. Exactly how I feel. it could have been so much better but it wasn't. B-/C+
  19. I go back and forth between this and the original as to which one is best. But both of them are classics and both are also in my top 10 of all time. It is a funny fact that James Caan was the highest paid person in the film. A+
  20. Great movie, just a step below the original. But that is not a slight at all against this one. So many good things I can list about this movie that it would take too much time A
  21. Way below the first 2. I liked the idea, but it just didn't really come together. And the less I bring up Sofia Coppola the better. If it didn't have Godfather attached to it, it may get a B/B-, but since it is part of the series, it drops due to the predecessors. C+
  22. I completely agree. I do like the 2nd one as well, but to me, this one is the best.
  23. Yeah this is one of my favorite movies. Everyone was great in it and it is just a good story. "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies" A
