Has to be because of spoilers... Weird how late that is. But then again Endgame and NWH had late social/reviews so it´s not unheard of that a movie that gets great reviews keeps it so late if there are spoilers to hide. On the fun side I´m watching this on the 31th so I will be able to avoid spoilers easily.
I still think Fast X will still give OS for Vol 3 hit even if it underperforms. So I do wonder how much the drop will be next week when it´s loses screens etc.
Norway
Fast X pre-sales are not looking that bad. Looks much stronger than Vol 3 did and have more screen allocations. With it basically being holiday weekend from Thursday to Sunday I´m expecting a solid OW at least. Fast 9 did almost 200K in a time theaters was still heavily recovering from pandemic shutdowns. Will look on Wednesday but thinking 60K OW is doable as a minimum for Fast X.
It will open in Wednesday in many markets but with timezone the movie will have been out a full day in markets like South Korea and China, and pretty much half the day in Europe.
So the review embargo is lifting after the movie will have been out in some markets, just like Shazam. Not that reviews really have been important for the franchise, but they clearly know critics will most likely destroy it. That said I really hope WOM is good. I like this franchise even tho I hated F8 and F9. Don´t want it to end without a completion.
I will not be surprised if this is just as good or even better than the first. Have a movie series ever gotten A+ CS back to back? I know two Avengers movies has it but it isn´t back to back. Not saying it will get that but wouldn´t surprise me.
Would need an extreme hold next week against Fast X OS to keep 1B in play. Don´t think there´s any chance for that. Fast X will still affect it even with it maybe underperforming.
