Flash was NEVER a heavy hitter. There was no pretext of a prior Flash movie going over 600 mil. If an Avengers film failed to hit 300mil maybe so, but there was no evidence that Flash would be a megahit other than Gunn whoring himself and saying it was THE GREATEST SUPERHERO MOVIE SINCE THE DARK KNIGHT

While I personally strongly disliked EEAO I'm pretty sure The King's Speech was far more overrated. EEAO was at least more ambitious than that.

I mean, my discussion was more on the stupidity of taking the bait and making Indy 5 (an obviously bad idea). Ant-Man COULD have actually done well if it was good. Indy 5 was doomed from the greenlight.

Magic Kingdom is def over 100 once humidity index/discomfort are taken into account. Florida will be VERY unappealing in "high summer" after climate change. Disney should start looking at a long term plan to either become a landlord or offload those parks to someone because they are deeeeeaaaaaaaaddddd in summer there in about 20 years if this change keeps up.

Y'know, most of the whining about Disney this summer would be moot if they had just been smart enough to NOT take the bait and make Indy 5: the Prostate of Doom. Elemental wasn't really a success but it wasn't a failure either and I'm sure they'll be back on track easily if they make Frozen 3 in terms of animated features.

Disney isn't going bankrupt. That said people claiming Elemental is a "success" because it had relatively good holds isn't a great analysis of its performance either.

Don't know where people got the HURR DURR OPPY IS NOTHING BUT TALKING thing from. Yes it's more dialogue heavy than most conventional Hollywood films of the 2020s but the actual onscreen Trinity test is utterly terrifying.

If you looks closely a fair amount of those would be irrelevant to box office because a big chunk of them are direct to video/streaming.

I mean, "not for critics" is legit if film critics literally don't get the source (Mario) or don't care for a specific film that audiences get (Night of the Living Dead, Scrooged). Shark movies that review poorly generally aren't worth it (Jaws the Revenge is a great example) and I haven't heard anyone hyping Meg 2 like it's actually anticipated.
