    I almost wish there was a way to filter MCU stuff out of the forum threads. It tends to take away from even discussions/weekends where there's no strong MCU presence.

    Y'know, the endless conservative whining about "woke" Barbie probably would've had more weight behind it if they were pushing people to see Oppenheimer instead under the thesis of it being "more meaningful art" than Barbie.

    Pretty much. Titanic was considered unattainable even by 90s standards (when it was still normal for a very succesful blockbuster to have a run of 4 months). Titanic felt like a year at the time.

    It's stupid to compare Maverick to Titanic. Titanic was treated as an event for most of the YEAR after it was released. Maverick was "long run by 2020s standards" which puts it roughly where a succesful, popular 80s film like Ghostbusters would be in terms of legginess. Titanic was an absolute freak of nature.

    Yes, I'm sure we need IMAX for a movie consisting mainly of hair jokes, BoJo sounding like a British Will Ferrell character and an obligatory scene where he runs around to the Benny Hill theme.

    The only way a Boris movie would work would be as a slapstick comedy where they play the Bulk and Skull music whenever he does something stupid. Nobody cares about him but for memes about how stoopid he is. He's like the UK's Rob Ford.

    Barbie is very clearly direct competition for Elemental and will impact it. It'll probably get 150 mil but not much more.

    They're in debt because of the debt they absorbed from several other mergers. I'd argue Disco was stupid to absorb them and take on the debt in the first place. The DCEU Dregs have done them no favors though.

    The Flash isn't making money. It lost more money than any film in WB history!

    Dude, it's likely to use a fair chunk of its theaters since Oppenheimer is a 3 hour film and I doubt people will drop MI for Oppy.
