    Those whisps of suggestion that floated into Wells`s ears may be from a recent screening where les Mis was well-received. So someone may have seen it and thought it was good but not all that. We`ll see. Jeff is anti-Les Mis so he`s fishing for any anti-Les Mis buzz, just like he was fishing for anti-Lincoln and pro-Karenina buzz.

    Jeff Wells is taking a dump on Les Mis chances. he`s hearing "whispers" that les Mis may just be a very solid, workmanlike movie and definitely not OMG AmazingFrotnrunnerOMGOMGOMG masterpiece.Turns out, there was a screening so those whispers seem to be someone`s opinion sight seen or something.

    Nope,none. WB is campaigning her in the Lead for TDKR and that ain`t gonna happen. But it`ll strenghten her chances of winning BSA with Les Mis because it`ll remind AMPAS what a great year she`s been having.

    SFX is a lock but I think that it should lose to Cloud Atlas. That one looks beyond stunning.

    I expect Argo to win the screenplay. They have to throw it a bone and it ain`t winning Picture and Director although it`s going to be nominated.I don`t quite get why The Hobbit is on the list. Oscar predictors don`t have it in any major category and it`s likely to miss out on some techs that LOTR used to get nominated for as well. Competition is just way too strong and WB is bent on securing some noms for TDKR.

    Les Mis could snag 2 Best Supporting actresses if Samantha Barks (Eponine) pans out. Also, we haven`t seen SBC as Thenardier yet and he has a show-stopper number (Master of the House) and baity arc (from comic relief to villain).Just saw your list. What you said. Sounds right.

    :bravo:Vesper is the best. Amazing chemistry with Bond, great character, great actress (which is rare for Bond Girls are usually badly acted) and really beautiful.Runner up: Xenia. Famke was such an awesome OTT villain.

    Lincoln can end up with one more than Les Mis if Williams score gets in. Les Mis score is ineligible, no? otherwise, Les Mis should get in in almost everything save SFX.

    Perks is underperforming because Summit dropped the ball on its release. Unlike Remember Me which bombed because people either don`t give a shit about R Pattz at all or don`t give a shit about him outside of Twilight. That movie was getting tons of EW, any teen mag, Perez Hilton,etc coverage. Perks didn`t. Big difference. TP is one of the most consistent boxoffices around yet is always omitted from conversations about who boxoffice draws are. So was mine but mostly 60+ crowd. It`s definitely skewing older but oldies turned Slumdog into a blockbuster so fingers crossed they do the trick for Argo. Excellent movie. All hail BA.

    This was excellent. Affleck is the real deal.The US Embassy break-in from the opening shows that Affleck would make a killer zombie movie. Those pumped up Iranians were scary as hell. I hope The Stand happens for he`ll nail the Captain Tripps panic.The movie was effortlessly switching between a dead-serious nail-biter and some fine comedy.Fuckin intense third act even though you know how it ends.Arkin will likely get nominated. I didn`t believe it until I saw the movie. he`s playing the industry type, has the best lines, they love the shit out of behind-the-scenes-of-movie-business movies.Please make The Stand. Get Leo for Flagg and you`re good to go, Ben.I think this will win the script only but will get a handful of major noms to boot. Picture, Director, Script = locked. Supporting Actor = very likely.

    Mila Jovovich was right when she made that angry tweet that Summit only cares for Twilight and nothing else. It`s true. They have boxoffice success only with 2 things that sell by itself - Twilight and Denzel. Their Twi ponies flop hard in non-Twi movies because Summit can`t sell anything that isn`t pre-sold already for reasons that have little to do with Summit.

    I don`t believe in coincidences and "coincidently" 2 reviews that say Argo`s good but not great, not best picture,yadda,yadda are by posters with DDL avatars.

    That WOM obviously isn`t toxic is baffling.Also, a trully great movie has an outside chance to win the weekend yet Sinisterds are bitching. Sinister doesn`t need #1. It was made for $3 mio, it`s already making a profit. But #1 for Argo would mean so much in Oscar race.
