This is some Warner's plan to create - gasp- a Shared Horror/Haunted House Universe? Just like its own DC Superhero Universe? Just like what Universal is planning for its own Classic Monster Universe with Dracula Untold? Just like what Disney/Marvel is doing with The Avengers? Just like what Sony is doing with its scant library of Spider-Man characters? Just like what Fox is doing with...Alien/Prometheus Univ--uhm, that one is not happening.

Could this be the start of Keanu's TAKEN franchise? OK, OK slow down, probably it will do $70M if it is really good, or $40M to $50M just like a lot of decent thrillers of late

It is just meh but not really laugh-out-loud bad. I also don't think the Hunger Games movies are exceptionally good anyway. Twilight? Don't even ask me.

Bourne vs Cross like the Jackal plot line will be very cool. Maybe Cross cannot get over his dependency on his "chems."

Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Brad Pitt never won an Oscar. Kevin Costner was worshipped after Dances With Wolves swept. Now he is doing "3 Days to Kill" with Amber Heard who drove angry with Nicolas Cage. Tom Cruise may be annoying overachiever but his last franchise made $700M WW. Anthony Hopkins won one for the iconic Hannibal Lecter role but he is not doing anything extraordinary these days (granted he is no longer young). But look at Jack Nicholson. A movie star who knows how to act who has been nominated 12 times. First in 1969, won in 1975 for Cuckoo's Nest and 15 years later starred in the hugely successful Batman. It's a blessing for somebody like Jack. For the rest of the mere mortals, it's a curse.

Helen Hunt, Mira Sorvino, even fan favorite Marisa Tomei - all of these girls' career in movies actually nose-dived after they won an Oscar. Oscar is great for those who is already a proven movie star. Remember the Hudson girl? Exactly.

It seems like Marvel can do no wrong. And the enthusiasm for this space-opera movie shows people still have the hots for another Star Wars adventures.

I predicted that it would do around $400M WW ($200M DOM + $200M OS)

EX3 DOM is rather disappointing but the WW has at least passed $100M They are still doing EX4 with Jackie Chan?

Apes 2 could hit $150M in China, maybe even more

I think everybody can agree that mixing xenomorph with predator is not a good idea. I wonder what Shane Black meant by "inventive sequel" They may go back to the jungle setting circa 1987 Predator and have a parallel story to Arnold & Co's story, just like what they are doing with Terminator Gensys
