  1. If this were out 2 years ago, $150m+ would have been doable. Last year, $100m-$125m maybe. I'd say in 2 years an absolute limit will be $70m This blazed seriously bright for a couple of years, but it's gone from being a 4 quad brand to strictly for under 13s. Seriously big missed opportunity
  2. No problem. I've only ever been there once, back when Saw 3D opened, and the only issue I could find was the lack of a dedicate box office. But for cineworld you should always book online as you save 10% with them.
  3. The closest I can think of to central London that wouldn't knacker your wallet would likely be Cineworld at the O2 which is about 15 mins on the jubilee line
  4. I'm going on Tuesday next week. Can't freaking wait!!! And Anchorman 2 tonight. Fingers crossed I can fit in at least one other movie next week.
  5. I'm not enamoured enough with Gilliam to deck you out with that stuff, plus betting is far more fun when there's cash on the line
  6. This letterboxd site sounds like a laugh. Never a bad thing to have another outlet.
  7. I would put cash on Zero Theorem making £2m minimum if I weren't poor as fuck right now. Trust me dude, just the python association some will give it more interest than it normally would Thanks to the live shows.
  8. Don't be so quick to write off need for speed. It looks like fun, people still like fast and furious,so it could tap in to that crowd on a minor level, and I can't see any other dumb fun films around it soon. Also with the Zero Theorem, you can't quite discount Terry Gilliam. While Dr Parnassus didn't do great, this is coming at a point where Python are back in the news again Thanks to their upcoming gigs at the O2. Add in Christoph Waltz and it could pick up a few million.
  9. What I think is daft is releasing Raid 2 on April 11th. Slap bang in the middle of a mini blockbuster crush. A few weeks later in May (possibly the week before Godzilla) would give it a chance to swoop in to the multiplexes again, stealing a screen from Captain America most likely.
  10. Easter's pretty late this year which doesn't help the March schedule much. Then you have Cap, Muppets, Noah and Rio crammed in to 2 weeks, with Spidey 2 weeks later.
  11. For Veronica my other half and I are hoping it gets to Crawley Cineworld at least. It's my go topoint for smaller releases that don't get a chance around us. I travelled there for Harold & Kumar, Red State and (before it blew up for a documentary) Senna.
  12. Don't underestimate the Marshmallows. My girlfriend is going to be very chuffed with this news!
  13. Cuban Fury just seems like a massive wild card. Weird premise, but has two really likeable British comic actors in it (O'Dowd and Frost). Add in that it IS coming out on Valentines day, and it is almost guaranteed to make some money. Mark my words, most cinemas in the country will sell out everything except for Peabody on friday night.
  14. Whoops, sorry man, I misread that. If it can take in $4m this weekend, I think en official opening of $10m is all but guaranteed. If it goes higher? Who knows, but anything over $10m/£6m is a blockbuster opening!
  15. I think that preview number is a little high, I don't think DM2 even managed to get that high. $5/6m sounds closer to what I expect.
  16. Peabody had about 20 people at my 2pm screening. Seeing as that was 3D, it wasn't a bad turnout. I Feel for Dreamworks here, PB&S is a good film, very funny in places, in ways that the kids won't get, but Lego is just looming so big on the horizon. There is so much buzz for itthat Peabody has no chance to compete. It's previews plus OW will likely be beaten by Lego's previews alone!
  17. At one point I got bored at work and wrote down every line from avatar. And tron legacy...
  18. Looks like Rama is fighting his way back to the UK In April. The Raid 2 has got a date at long last of April 11th. A week before spiderman and 2 weeks after captain America. Can it go as wide as The Raid did back in 2012? Granted it came out during a dry May but I've never seen a foreign film go as wide as that did straight off the bat.
  19. Great list Jack. Do you feel that had Blue been able to ride the Best Foreign Feature category it was ineligible for it could have garnered a greater level of awards interest? Adele certainly deserved something, she was truly mesmerizing.
  20. Lego is getting a metric fuckton of screenings around me this weekend. Why must it be my nan's birthday this weekend?!
  21. You put in Jay and Silent Bob. You sir, are a legend!
